Do not buy this if you have anything other than a very small dog. You will not be able to fly with it if you have a dog in the medium to large size. The internal dimensions are not listed, it’s smaller than you think and you can get rejected by an airline. Once I realized this and tried to cancel from Petco they shipped it anyway and they shouldered me with a $40 return for an item I canceled well before it shipped. Be absolutely sure you want this thing. If you don’t, you’re out almost half the cost of the item even if you don’t open it up. I emailed Petco and they copped out and they don’t even want it back let alone consider compensating for the delivery. Do not but Petco products on Amazon. They don’t know what they are doing. This kennel is misleading and says it’s good to fly but it doesn’t list the IATA rating and can ruin your trip, costing you hundreds or thousands in rebooting while you find an appropriate product.

Color wise, and size the cart seemed to match a crate that I had bought from Amazon in December 2013. However the strength of the plastic housing itself does not equal the thickness of the plastic crate that was bought in 2013. For example I can easily lean upon the top of this newer crate and it buckles inward. This aspect would not be airline approved. The plastic housing is of a cheaper quality---If I had inspected one like it in our local pet supply store, I would have never bought it.THIS NEWER CRATE IS ONLY USEFUL for transporting a dog in a SUV or as a place for our GSD to sleep in at night.

I am so disappointed in the construction and quality of the Vari Kennels produced these days. This particular model surely won't hold a dog eager to get out. Although, a well trained dog, happy in a crate, does well. I would like to see improvements in this crate by adding ventilation holes in the plastic on the bottom half of the crate. I add them myself. I wish this company would focus more on quality than profit.
