Hana's Hundreds of Hijabs

Little girls often go through a period of wanting to dress up and embellish their cloths with as much bling as they can get away with. So it is with Hana who adorns her dozens upon dozens of hijabs with jewelry and other embellishments. This book is vibrant, colorful, and fanciful, as is Hana. It also shows an entrepreneurial zeal as Hana finds a ways to use her gift for embellishing and her abundance to start a business. I highly recommend. (I got it for a child but I ordered another from a local bookstore for myself.)

I love this fun and sparkling picture book of a creative young girl. The main character, Hana, reminds me of many inventive children I know who love to turn various objects into works of art. I like how Hana recognizes and celebrates the importance and significance of wearing a hijab. The illustrations are vibrant and colorful, a perfect accompaniment for the text.

This book is delightful. It's easy to root for Hana.

I loved this sweet story about Hana's Hundreds of Hijabs and the creative character Hana. The character Hana is endearing and oozes with creativity. She finds a perfect solution to channel her creativity. Readers will enjoy Hana's solution to her many hijab styles and will pore over the lush and colorful pictures. As a hijab wearing person, it is so refreshing to see hijab portrayed with such joy in a picture book. The backmatter was inviting and I felt like I got to know the author and illustrator more. I can't wait for more books from this talented author Razena Omar Gutta and from Manal Mirza (I loved her work in Zahra's Blessing!)Now only if I had a real Hana in my life as a Creativity Consultant to fix my haphazard hijab :)

This book was pure delight! Hana loves her hijabs and is very creative in adorning them. Once she starts accessorizing, she cannot stop. She finds herself frequently being late, and her collection of hijabs and accessories clutter her home. But I love that Hana is able to show off her personality and style and that she finds a way to share her talent with others in a delightfully unique way. This book really put a smile on my face.The illustrations are magnificent! Young girls will enjoy lingering over the pictures to perhaps spark their own sense of creativity.Be sure to read the last two pages where the author and illustrator answer questions such as “What does hijab mean to you?” I loved their answers.I received an early digital copy from the publisher. It is hard not to smile while reading this book. It is such a delightful read-aloud. I think many kids (and adults) can relate to the main character, Hana, so passionate about personal style and oozing creativity. This book is a true celebration of the hijab: the different places to get them and all the ways to style them. But it is also a celebration of identity, creativity, entrepreneurship, and community. The illustrations are welcoming and vibrant. I loved the unique questions in the backmatter.

It was SO hard to keep a smile off my face while reading this. Razeena's text paired with Manal's GORGEOUS illustrations made my heart flip with wonder and joy! I can't even begin to imagine how thrilled my stylish 5-year-old daughter will be when I show her this book. She loves beautiful hijabs just like Hana :) The short Q&A at the end with the author and illustrator was also a nice touch!

Got it as an Eid gift for my daughter. She read it right away and give thumbs up.
