Easy to use (if you know how to use it)
Its exactly what you think it is and a perfect tool for Basecamp. I wish I could reply to other reviews on here that complain about "stiffness". Mine works just fine. Slides out with little to no effort but stays in place. To the ones that say its "heavy", probably weighs the same a cell phone with an otterbox. Definitely less than a water bottle. To the ones complaining that only the top of the striker is angled... thats now how you use it. You angle it 45 degrees and press.If you've ever used a magnesium stick, it's the same thing only you dont need to shave it and use your knife. Only thing I'd add is a bit of paracord to keep both ends together in the rare chance you misplace it at camp.

Nothing short of excellence from Zippo.
Long time fan of Zippo products. I didn’t even know they had this in their lineup until I happened upon it by accident. Works well and holsters into itself conveniently. Small enough to pocket too!

Great striker at a great price. Wonderful Zippo quality!!
I expected a great striker coming from Zippo but this one was beyond my expectations! It is made very well and it's easy to use! After getting the coating worn off a little it throws an amazing amount of sparks. It is very compact so it can be carried in a bag or small case and takes up little room. It's not a huge ferro rod so if that's what you're looking for, you might want to get something else. I highly recommend this striker though.

Throws Big sparks
It's the best fire starter I have ever used. The second this arrived, I tried it out, and it was throwing big sparks. I would suggest having a good fire base and rubbing off the black paint on the rod. I would highly suggest it to any Boy Scout.

A sure fire backup.
Works like a dream. Very cool to show off and start a fire in the woods. Lighters can fail, this is a solid backup.

This zippy flint is by far the best damn flint I have ever seen or used. I have started 30+ fires with mine ibwont use a lighter ever again to compound! It arrived a bit early an after I used it the first time I immediately ordered 5 more for friends who also agree is the best damn flint we have used. Love it! Zippy, swell job fellas! You nailed it!
