Shocked.
I bought these as a starting electrical apprentice. But damn. These are very good for their price. Very little play, grips onto nuts like it should. Other cheap adjustable wrenches don't compare! Will update on longevity but for electrical work I Invision these lasting a long time.

Great quality, thick insulation
SATA is part of the APEX tool group which also makes Gearwrench tools. They are an underrated brand by a lot of people and they produce high quality tools at a reasonable price with many of their tools being identical to the GW brand but with different labeling. In this case, I'm not sure if there is a comparable to this exact tool, but the quality is high and immediately apparent once you start using it. The wrench itself is just a basic 8 inch adjustable but it's the thick insulated handle and the VDE certification that makes it special.VDE certified wrenches of this quality normally cost between 20-40 dollars more than this one and are basically the same thing. This one is rated for use up to 1000V and has been tested to 10,000 volts.Handle has some cushion to it and can be used comfortably with or without gloves. A nice companion to the SATA VDE insulated screwdriver set and the VDE 3 piece pliers set which are a great value but also high quality. This tool has a lifetime warranty and SATA is backed by a huge corporation that is not going out of business anytime soon. 8 inch is a good middle size, and I haven't really needed to use a 10 inch adjustable wrench for anything involving electrical work, although I'm sure there are specialty applications out there. A good tool for anyone doing electrical work professionally or at home.

Great
There's not a lot of wiggle in the jaw, which is very important for something you need to set before you touch it to the bolt. The metal feels very solid, and it has a nice feel all the way around. The shape of the jaw is interesting in that it's wider at the base, and narrower at the tip. It allows for access in tighter locations while retaining strength. It's also a fairly short jaw, but it successfully grabs onto a 1 inch head.It has a nice dovetail insulator going all the way around, so that's going to be a solid reminder not to go for the adjuster.I have a load of 1000v rated tools, and this one is a very niche tool for me. I can see using it as a way of working on something attached to a panel without having to fear the handle bumping into a bus bar. I talked to one of my electrician buddies, and he said it's great for even if you have the right tool, but then something loosens up and you need another of the same tool. You can only carry so many tools when you're up in a bucket, and having something adjustable is always a handy thing to have. I think that's the best way to look at it. Especially if you're carrying a tool bag up a pole and you want to keep the weight down, this may be a requirement.Overall it's a very finely made tool.Recommended.

Don't Adjust When In Use
As others have said, don't adjust this when it's in contact with a circuit. The dial is obviously not insulated. When compared to a standard wrench in the same price-point, this is a little bit light duty. The wrench portion is a little bit sloppy in my opinion, wobbling about .033 inches; which doesn't seem like much when I write it down like this, but it certainly wiggles more than my other wrenches. It feels pretty light, but the money spent is going towards that VDE certification requirements with the extra insulation.A lot of other VDE certified tools are really hulking because they're just regular tools with oversized handles on them for the insulation - this tool seems to be more purpose made, and so it feels good in the hand and isn't too overbearing. The slip-guard is a bit obstructive, and can get in the way when using in tighter spaces, but it's there for safety - so take it or leave it I guess. The caliper markings on the end are nice, but I'm confused why the imperial markings didn't go all the way to the max adjustment length.

Very High Quality, Love This One
This has functioned very well for months with no issues. We love it and I'd say, after six months of use, it's a good product. If I find any flaws I will update this review, but this is still working perfectly and looks new. The grip material is not unpleasant to hold and it wipes clean. The grip on what I'm working on is really wonderful compared to the tool this replaced.

A great insulated adjustable wrench.
SATA tools has been around for many many years. They are slowly getting their foot in the North American region. They are owned by Apex tool group that also owns Gearwrench and Crescent. Jacobs chuck is also owned by them. They are a large tool maker right behind Stanley black and decker. SATA does offer lifetime warranty although I have never had to use it but it’s there. This insulated adjustable wrench is the first insulated tool I own from SATA. It’s rated at 1000V which is your typical electrical rating for insulated tools. This has all the qualities I like in a tool. It doesn’t jam up when adjusting which happens on a lot of cheaper brands when it comes to adjustable wrenches. I’m sure you know what I’m talking about. This has a nice grip and is insulated like you would expect. It’s a great tool that I would highly recommend. I work industrial maintenance and work around electricity a lot. This comes in handy a lot. In all this is a great tool for the electrician or maintenance personnel. I would definitely recommend trying it out. I’m sure you would be just as pleased as I am with it.
