Works flawlessly
This device is designed to tap into copper tubing 1/4, 5/16 or 3/8 inches diameter. It requires no extra tools as it has an allen wrench included. I used mine to tap a refrigeration system and the instructions were clear and the product worked beautifully. Despite its low price, the build seems solid.

Good piercing valve
Valve was installed on the low side line of a refrigerator which was not cooling very well.It is easy to install and has been working well so far. I have not used a sniffer to test for leaks but a week after adding refrigerant and the refrigerator is holding the temperature well.I plan on buying a refrigerant sniffed and when I do, I will check the valve for leaks and if I find any, I will update the review. For now, it works perfectly.

Wonderful Last Resort Tool
Perfect for refilling 20 year old fridge. Obviously piercing the closed refrigeration system was the last thing I wanted to do. All other components were checked first. A few replaced too.A few of the parts I bought came with piercing valves. This valve is clearly superior. More heft. Also a bigger gasket to prevent leaks.I know I am not supposed to leave it attached long term. But knowing that I already have a leak, I’ll deal with filling every couple of years with this valve and live with the extra bit of leak on the low side.

Great device to add freon to my mini fridge!
Installed beautifully! Holding so far. Will update if it fails. I did have a full set of a/c hoses for my car to be able to install the freon.

Do not use on a R410a system
Like a dummy, I thought I could get away with using this on my R410a RV unit. Nope! Leaked out by the next day.

Saved me from buying a new $2000+ refrigerator
4 year old Kenmore Elite refrigerator wasn't cooling very well. Researched internet for common problems and solutions. Ran diagnostics and didn't find anything wrong with electronics/compressor. Paid $90 to have appliance repairman come out and look at it. Repairman said it was low on Freon. Said it could be a slow leak in evaporator or condenser coils and it would be $300+ to find the leak and $400-600+ to fix it (he didn't want to mess with it). I did some more research on internet and found poor cooling due to low refrigerant is a common problem. Watched several videos on how to add Freon to your refrigerator. Ordered this Supco Bullet Piercing Valve and a charge hose with gauge. Bought a can of 134a refrigerant at the auto parts store. Installed the Bullet Piercing Valve as per instructions and added the 134a refrigerant using the charge hose and gauge as per U-tube videos. Supco Bullet Piercing valve was very easy to install and worked just like it was described. Refrigerator has been working great for over a month now with no issues. Spent less than $35 on freon, charge hose with gauge, and can of 134a refrigerant. Saved me $2000+ on a new replacement refrigerator.
