Good product. Clumsy delivery practices.
The product itself was fine. Because of your confusing website I wound up ordering it twice. When I ordered it with your one-click system, and then wanted to go back and order something else to go to the same address you dumped me somewhere else. Then there is the always confusing situation where my billing address is one place but I want the product delivered to another place. (I order books and records for my granddaughter and a friend.) Because of this experience plus a book ordered many, many months ago that you just never sent, I avoid Amazon unless there are particulr reasons to use it--and there aren't many.Don Frazier

Prokofiev: Peter and the wolf
Yes iI thought it is pretty good , I have heard better renditions. My grand son, 3 years old listens to it, but he has to be a little older to have a better attention span.He does listen and pays attention to it and That is a good start.

Childhood Relived
I grew up on Peter And the Wolf, and listened on a record player...back in the days when dinosaurs roamed the Earth, LOL. The Prokofiev piece, expertly executed, takes full advantage of David Bowie's skill as a narrator. My only regret is that the second and third pieces (Guide to the Orchestra, Carnival of the Animals) is instrumental only, without the explanations and the clever rhymes.

Classic
This is the greatest version of one of my favorite childhood tales. And with David Bowie narrating, who couldn't LOVE it? Britten's young person's guide to the orchestra is an added bonus, as it brings back even more wonderful childhood memories. I love giving this as a gift to new moms and sharing the love for these wonderful musical stories.

Great for the Grandson
I like this version. I think that the Orchestration is fine. While I'm not a big David Bowie fan, he did a great job on this. Especially if intended for children learning about orchestras, and symphony stuff. I enjoy it too. Other good versions are out there too...

Warning: Britten's Young Person's Guide to the Orchestra is NOT narrated.
I like this version of the music, but I was disappointed to discover that the Young Person's Guide to the Orchestra is not narrated, which loses an awful lot I think.

My kids love this!
I remember this from when I was a child and I'm so happy to be able to share it with my own children. They absolutely love this: in the car, at home, to fall asleep to. The music is just as phenomenal as I remember it and my kids love identifying the different instruments!

Meh
The Peter and the Wolf part of this CD is great. Bowie is perfect! And of course, the orchestra is spot on. The Britten section frankly, sucks. It's just fragmented with no narration. Waste of space.

Not sure how popular this was with the granddaughter, but her father liked it, and especially the involvement of Bowie.
