Brooks Women's Ghost 14 Neutral Running Shoe

I just got these today in time for my exercise class. I have a bunion on my right foot and the shoe was very forgiving for that as shown in photo. The wide base helps with balance a lot. We do a lot of balance work in my Silver Sneakers class and I was able to do the whole routine without putting my foot down. The back of the shoe comes up high. Some have said this is uncomfortable for them but I didn’t find it to be a problem. I wear a size 5 and that is what I bought, 5 medium and they fit just right. So, my initial thoughts about the shoes are excellent! And so very pretty!

These are so comfortable and sizes run on par. These have lasted longer than the other brands I have purchased in the past.

I was hesitant to spend this much money on a pair of sneakers for walking my dog, but I've been plagued with relentless plantar fasciitis pain in my right heel, and it has kept me from being active the way I want to be. I was in constant, 24/7 pain, even when sitting. It was excrutiating, and I just couldn't take it any more. I joined a support group on Facebook, and tons of people recommended these shoes specifically. I was willing to try anything at that point, so I used the "try before you buy" program to see how they worked for me. I felt a difference as soon as I put them on! The most noticeable difference is that this particular shoe gives your foot a pronounced tilt forward, taking the constant pressure off your heel and shifting the impact forward to the ball of your foot. This brought immediate relief! Also, I had purchased some Dr. Scholls Plantar Fasciitis insoles previously to use in other shoes, and I noticed that the insoles that come in these shoes are almost identical to the thickness and shape of those, except that the ones in these shoes have an even higher arch support. I can walk in these and not feel like I'm walking on rocks under my heel. When I sit, there's not the constant, throbbing pain that continues. I experienced relief from the very first day I put them on, and it has gradually improved. So I didn't even need the full 7-day trial to know that these were golden! So if you have this type of foot problem, feel confident that these shoes will help you ease the discomfort. Also, I have a very narrow foot, and I was pleasantly surprised that this brand sells narrow widths. My narrow (and thin from top to bottom) foot usually makes it quite difficult to get a good fit in any type of shoe, but these are magical! This was my first Brooks purchase, but I will definitely be back again when I need to replace these shoes. I highly recommend them! I'm also pleasantly surprised that such a solid, supportive shoe is so very lighweight. I didn't expect they would be so airy, but they really are so great for everyday wear.

I've heard a lot of praise for Brooks shoes, since I had worked at a factory type job where I was on my feet 10 hours a day. I've changed jobs but now I'm on my feet 12 hours, and all my other shoes are worn out, which causes my hips to hurt when wearing them for more than an hour or two.Overall, Brooks seem to be very comfortable shoes. However, I normally wear a U.S. size 8.5, rarely a size 9 and occasionally 8.5 wide depending on how the shoe is made. I bought the usual size, but didn't use the "try before you buy" option since I needed them that week. As it turns out, for this particular shoe I need a size 9; they're a little too short and a little too tight. They fit and have broken in over the past few days, but they'd be more comfortable with the slightly larger size. I didn't dock the comfort star for that, because that was my own personal error in judgment.My heels hurt throughout the day when wearing these. I don't know if that's because I'm getting used to being on my feet for extended hours again or because the shoes don't offer as much padding on the heel as I'd prefer. I've docked the star on comfort (and overall rating) in part because of the heel pain and in part because I feel like they could use a little more arch support. That being said, my hips aren't hurting after wearing them and I'm recovering well on my days off--so I know they're supporting my feet well. They're still very comfortable shoes, and they're also about as cute as sneakers get. I might not buy them again for work depending if my heels continue to hurt over the next few weeks, but I'd definitely buy them for general wear or workout use.

Brooks Ghost are my go-to shoes for high school cross country and track training. This listing’s reasonable price point and the cushion of Ghosts keep me coming back for more when I replace my shoes every 500 miles or so. Excellent support for injury prevention.

I have very bad supination on my foot so I am always looking for sneakers. That will help with that. These are really, very attractive and comfortable. I do recommend.

This is my second pair of Brooks Ghost 14. Wore first pair for several years and so glad to find this particular one again. Offers, comfort, support (not stiff) and good arch support. BTW, I'm in my seventies and have arthritis...wear these all the time.

I just bought the second pair. This is an excellent running shoe for the right foot fitting. Approximately 1,000k travelled before noting decrease in cushioning. The longest lasting cushioning of any shoe I have owned. Fairly water repellent in heavy rain with slight leakage in puddles. Repelled dirt on the dusty trails with sturdy foot and ankle support. Worth the price.

These are the best shoes I've every worn .. Brooks Ghost ... although everyone foot is different for me, someone who broke both feet and have always had pain and walking issues these shoes allow me to walk as far and long as I want no issue
