Slightly too big for my small women's hands
These are very sturdy gloves, and I would have loved to use them for pruning my rose and pomegranate tree. Very pretty deep green color, too. However, they were just too big for my small, thin hands. I could have used them and been comfortable enough, but I know I can find gloves that fit me better.

Comfortable
These are comfortable. Mine tore at the seam near the wrist. I put them through a lot of work though tearing up a pasture full of goat head weed.

FALSE advertising
The gloves ARE NOT in fact cactus proof!Upon first usage the needles completely penetrated the glove and stuck painfully into my fingers and hands.

Not Thornproof, But Great Gloves Otherwise
These gloves came packaged nicely in a box and look to be higher quality than your average gardening gloves. While not exactly thornproof, these gloves work very well for general gardening, and they are my new go to gloves for that purpose. I am deducting one star because they don't do what they claim, which is prevent thorns from pricking you. They are one size fits all, with no ability to adjust. They fit an average man's hand well and are still a bit on the large size for a woman with medium to large hands. The cuff extends about 1.5" beyond the wrist bone and fits nicely in that area. Not too tight, not too loose. The palms have thicker padding, and the fingertips work on the screen of your smart phone. Once dirty, though, I am not touching my phone so I'm not sure how necessary that feature is in a gardening glove.Overall, great gloves for general gardening, but expect a few thorns to get you.

Berry & Bird make good stuff!
It was time for me to get a few new pairs of workgloves. The large supply I once had through a couple of multi-pack special purchases has finally dwindled. So I went on Amazon and chose a few pairs that looked promising. When I saw this pair from Berry & Bird I was happy, because I have a couple of their other gardening implements and I've learned from experience that they make really fine quality products. This pair fits pretty well, which is especially gratifying since I've got fairly wide hands so sometimes work gloves end up a bit tight on me. This pair is comfortably snug, but not too tight. They pull on and off without difficulty, and like the other items from this brand that I've had experiences with seem to be of top-notch quality. To be honest, I'm used to either all-leather or at least leather-palm gloves. They just seem to have better longevity, which I need because I am really pretty hard on work gloves with the work I need to do on my property. But honestly, these gloves look so well-made that I don't think longevity will be a problem. There is lots of reinforcement at the finger tips and the palm - areas that seem to take the brunt of my abuse and fail there first (especially the fingertips). The palms also take a beating though, with the pulling of thorny vines, and the working around landscape plants that have protective saw-like leaf edges. These challenges and many more all thrive down here in South Florida. But even though they don't have any leather in the construction, I think that these gloves will suit me well, especially with the thick and dense material that's sewn into the palm areas. I haven't tried them yet, but possibly this weekend. Looking forward to seeing how they do, and optimistic that the Berry & Bird quality won't disappoint.

4.5/5 - The Only Problem with These is Their Marketing (They're Good Gloves!)
As other reviewers have noted, the marketing for these on their product page isn't quite accurate. Are this 100% "thorn proof?" No. Of course they're not. Are they really, really good at protecting you from thorns if you use them like a normal person and don't try to forcefully grab a cactus/rosebush? Yes!! They have reinforced palms and double reinforced fingertips and they do a good job of protecting you from MOST plant-related scrapes/scuffs/punctures. My husband has trimmed the bougainvillea (my arch nemesis!) several times without getting poked while wearing these gloves. Is the elastic wristband adjustable "to fit ALL size hands?" No. It gives a little extra stretch but it's not magic. You aren't going to have a "Travelling Pants" effect with these gloves — they won't fit everyone. They didn't fit me, for example! My husband has a 4" palm and I have a 3" palm. These gloves are roughly a men's Large (plain Large, not XL, just to be clear) with a tiny bit of give. So if you're a bit puffy but still want to do some gardening (it's good exercise!), you'd still be able to squeeze into your gloves. For $17, these are excellent gloves. The only "bad" thing about these gloves (that I, too, am marking 0.5 stars off for) is their marketing/copywriting. If they fix some of the wording on their product page (maybe it's semantics trouble? maybe it's a bad translation? who knows!), Berry&Bird will have a hit with these gloves.

Just the fingertips are prick resistant. Not the rest of the gloves. Not for Cactus gardening
I got these because they claim they are good for roses and cactus. Well, I don't think the company ever tried these on cacti. I have a lot of different cacti, and repotting them is very challenging, so I was excited to get these gloves. The very tips of the fingers are prick resistant. However, the rest of the gloves the cactus spines go right through (fingers, palms). When dealing with a cactus, you need full protection at least on the fronts of your hands. So, I would not recommend these. I will continue to search for gloves that are truly thorn proof. Otherwise, for regular gardening, I think they would be nice. They are comfortable.
