Great value for the price
These were cheaper than in any of the hardware stores and just as effective. Only complaint was the box that it was shipped in was way too big.

quality
These seem to be of very good quality .. will last a lot longer than the wood riser that it's replacing.

Difficult to install treads, ordered 2 sets, sets didn't match, 3 tread risers
The risers are solid, which is a good thing, however there are no cut outs that allow you to properly attach/set screws in the angle areas. Ideally there should be holes that would allow a driver to access the screws to set then flush. The result are screws set at angles - maybe I am too much of a perfectionist, but it looks sloppy.I ordered 2 sets of risers (4 risers). I installed the first pair in positions 1 and 4 of the stairs. I then tried to install the second pair in positions 2 and 3 of the stairs. After much head scratching as to why the second pair were larger by .5 inch determined that the second pair was in fact a different size. The work around was to reinstall the first pair in positions 1 and 2 and then install the second pair in positions 3 and 4. If I was an hourly contractor...... mutter mutterThe stairs are solid, much superior to wood risers, however if you are in a hurry, much simpler to use wood risers, (galvanized finishing nails through the top of the tread). Helpful hint, electric drill for screws, need bit extensions and a couple of clamps. 1.5 inch screws drilled at an angle work. Keep pairs together. In summary, an unnecessary learning curve, but when finished happy with the result and should last longer than the previous wood risers.
