Switch was easy to install and works great
Reading directions and matching numbers makes it easy to install. I had different colored wires but matching the numbers worked great

SAVED HAVING TO REPLACE A CEILING FAN
The pull chain controlling the fan speed on the ceiling fan in my office broke off inside of the switch that was installed at the factory. There was no way of attaching a longer pull chain. Replacing the switch was simply a matter of cutting the cable on the old switch and connecting the cables on the new switch, using the wire nuts that were provided with the switch. The switch was a little pricey at $29.95, plus shipping, but was by far cheaper than a $180 ceiling fan.

advice on connecting wires
I agree with other reviewers that this is way over-priced, but it is a big plus to have the wires attached to the switch. This eliminates the need to tin (solder) the ends of the old fan wires up at ceiling level when the power is turned off. It is worth advising, however: DO NOT RELY ON MATCHING WIRE COLORS OR CLOCK POSITIONS ON THE SWITCH. The key factor is the label at each switch position. Look at the labels on the old switch. Match 1 to 1, 2 to 2, 3 to 3, and L to L, regardless of the wire color or position (the order on my old switch was 12L3, whereas the new one was 123L). The only downside to this switch is that the added wire lengths plus the 4 wire nuts take up extra space in the fan housing...

Worked on replacing a pull string on a very old ceiling fan.
This is the first time I’ve tried doing something electrical. And I’m pleasantly surprised that after unscrewing the covering I was able to reconnect 4 wires and the fan was working again.

Impossible
This thing is impossible to install. The cords are all different colors and no combination of colors seemed to work for me. Waste of time and money.

Works great
Easy install

no medium speed
We can not tell any difference in the medium and low speed on the chain pull switch. Easy to install but NOT happy about no real medium like on the originnal switch.
