What is the overall length when retracted for the entire unit?

They measure 26" on the inside of the S-Hooks or about 26-1/2" on the outside of them. Hope this is helpful. I love how easy they are to store.

Are they siple to set up and use?It's first time to use a ratchet tie-down.

Very simple and they auto retrac back down to a smaller size so you will not have straps everywhere. I like the auto retract feature.

I know that the break strength is 1500lb for each strap. What is the max working load?

Not exactly sure I use to tie down my Harley street glide but very good straps as I can see.

Will these work for my side by side?

Depends on how heavy your side-by-side is. Each strap is rated 500lbs with a break strength of 1500 lbs. We plan to launch heavy duty ratchet straps with higher capacity in the near future. Of course, straps still auto retract.
