I like this mouse because it's small and it works.

Ergonomic and portable.
Excellent the idea to avoid the USB receiver and direct connection through Bluetooth with the laptop.

Hard to find a better mouse
I have always struggled with the mouse pads on laptops. When I got my new laptop I was really hoping things would have improved. I tried it for about a year but I still could not get to work nearly as well as having a mouse connected. I finally used a wired mouse which worked well but the wire was kind of a pain to deal with as I moved around my house with the laptop. I finally ordered this HP 410 Slim AHS BT Mouse and I am very happy I did.I took this out of its packaging, installed the included battery and powered it on. I then powered on my laptop and as soon as it was finished loading (about 20 seconds) it asked if I wanted to pair with this mouse. I clicked on ‘Yes’ and the mouse was now working. You cannot get more simple than that!! I did not open the included manual or frankly even read anything on the packaging. I will say I was a little worried about installing the battery because I did not see the familiar battery door on the bottom. I carefully pushed my thumbnail in between the black plastic top and gold plastic bottom by the ‘HP’ logo. It pretty easily came apart and I found the battery compartment. Like I said, I didn’t read ANY of the documentation, I just made an educated guess on how to get to the battery compartment. Now that the mouse was working I obviously started using it. I was immediately impressed with the feel and smoothness of operation. I was a little worried about how thin and small the mouse is but it actually felt a lot better than other thin, small mice I have used. To give you an idea of the size of my hands, I don’t have huge hands but I wear a large sized glove.I needed to bring my laptop to the basement. I thought about how to transport the mouse because there were a couple other things I also wanted to bring down. I was able to pop this mouse into my shirt pocket and carry everything down without incident. So this is yet another upside to the smaller and thinner design.

Uncomfortable to hold and doesn't hold up
I bought 2 of these directly from HP, one for home and one for work. This mouse is oddly thin and doesn't fit the hand well at all, making it uncomfortable to hold. The scroll wheel on the one I use for work stopped working well about 3-4 months after I got it. Admittedly my work mouse takes a beating so I figured it was just the drops and whatnot that it has endured. The mouse I use exclusively at home is now having the same issue with the scroll wheel, just a few months later. Thankfully I got these pretty cheap. I would not recommend this mouse at all. The tecknet Bluetooth mouse I just ordered to replace this one fits the hand much nicer, and will hopefully hold up better than this HP model did.

No dongle needed, pairs effortlessly!
I have used other wireless mice before, but something about this just feel PREMIUM. The build quality is excellent, and it feels sleek in your palm. At first I thought I wouldn't like it because it is too flat and I'm used to having something more ergonomic in my hand, but truth be told I adapted to it very quickly- by the next day it felt like I've been using this my whole life. No dongle is needed, which usually means a whole pairing session is necessary, but to my surprise as soon as I turned it on, my Windows 10 desktop perked up and said it detected a new peripheral and asked if I wanted to connect. I didn't even need to open the Bluetooth menu, it just knew and handled it automagically! Color me impressed, usually I like the dongle systems because I know I won't need to go into settings and find the Bluetooth menu. This was so simple and no dongle to lose! The entire top comes off to install the battery, which is kinda neat too. Oh, and it comes with a solid brand name battery, Energizer Max! No cheap junk "starter" disposable battery, this is the real deal out of the box! The whole thing just feels very premium compared to what I've used in the past, the price is justified in my opinion.

Don’t recommend
Sometimes, the signal goes choppy or delayed. It isn’t so responsive in the computer.
