Dunham Men's Cloud Plus Waterproof Mid Boot 2 Ankle

Comfy. Great for hiking. Got them wet and dried out overnight in garage wick water pretty well. Well made and warm.

These boots fit perfect like they were made for my foot size and width. They felt light, looked great and were exactly the color I ordered according to the description. That's where the positive ends, when walking they quacked, like a duck, not the typical new shoes squeak when walking on clean hard tile or wood floor, it was a quack even when walking on carpet while taking each step. I really liked these boots, and I would have kept them if they didn't make the quacking noise. They were returned.

The fit and comfort are the stand out features for me,along with the price.

The boot doesn’t work because of the strange height which hits directly at your ankle Which causes rubbing and irritation. This is unfortunate because the rest of the boot is very comfortable and wide enough for a 4E. Something difficult to find normally.This problem could be solved by simply making it a normal 6 inch boot which would also provide better ankle stabilization for hiking.Another problem I noticed was the tread was very shallow and I’m guessing it would be worn out within six months to a year. (built-in replacement time I’m guessing) Why not just use a regular Vibram hiking’s sole?The boots also had a very strong chemical smell, which seems to be the norm for anything made in China these days.

New Balance Men's 978 V1 Walking Shoe isn't available anymore so I tried these as a substitute.I have a relatively narrow and would wear the New Balance 15 N US.Dunham widths were "blank", wide, and x-wide. Hoping the "blank" would be no wider than a B I ordered it. Boot is labeled as a D. Really too wide for me; the length was the same as the NB.Also, Dunham lacing has no hooks...just pull-through holes all the way to the top. I would prefer the two hook top system that NB had.Finally, they squeak loudly! I will only use them for yard work from now on.

I became aware of Dunham about 5 years ago and it has become the only boot brand I have bought since. 18 1/2 wide is not easy to find so when I do and it is rugged, comfortable, and waterproof....thank GOD !!! I have 4 pair of their boots and 1 dress chukka which is also waterproof.

Lightweight and built to last. I probably should have ordered a size wider but being that it has a leather upper it should stretch.
