Far less expensive than what the “pros” quoted me. I hope to not get any positive readings, but I have more peace of mind knowing the traps are there. Installation was simple. I used a tape measure, a yard stick and an auger kit for my cordless drill. Get a few more traps than you need just in case you hit a trap with your mower like I did.

I bought this to put around my cedar siding house. We live in a rural and wooded area. Easy enough to use, but installation is a bit of a pain. If you don't have a gardening auger, you are in for a treat! Even with one, you will need to recoup out the dirt and rock that falls back in with a spoon when pulling the auger out. Ok, so now on to the product. It has a button that pops up when the bait has been eaten. The way it works is like a rubber band kinda. When the bait is eaten, the button is held back with tension and when enough bait is gone it lets go the tension and button pops up telling you to replace it/take you have termites. However, I placed about 15 of these around my house and noticed that 1 or 2 always seemed to "pop up" within 1 week of installation. Pulling these out and checking them, I realized the bait had not been eaten. But that the part that holds the tension "rusted" away with the super thin metal used to hold it down. I replaced with new ones and within 1-2 weeks the same thing and no bait gone. If you have ground that gets and stays wet/is slow to drain... do not use.

I have been using this item for over 20 years, It seems to do its job and gives me peace of mind. I know for a fact that the house lot and area has termites.

The text based description clearly states that this comes with an auger. It does NOT! Since I cannot install these yet due to a faulty description; the best review I can give is a three. I just hope this review helps someone else looking to buy this kit!
