I have been a user of Moho for over 10 years. It’s my go to animation software and an essential tool in my workflow. I have also released a few courses and a book on how to use the software. I think it’s a fantastic investment for anyone interested in animation.The Debut version of Moho is a great way to enter the animation world on a budget. You get access to some of Moho’s best features: the Bone system, camera, multiple layer types and vector tools.Moho can be used to create any style of animation from something like Family Guy, South Park or Archer, to Anime or anything in between. You can design everything in Moho or import outside images, or even combine the two. A streamlined yet powerful set of tools for creating fun animations.As stated, Debut is streamlined compared to Pro. You will find more options with Pro, but Debut is a great place for beginners or hobbyists. Even better, if you realize down the road you need more functionality, you can easily bring your Debut project files over to Pro and keep building up your work with the enhanced toolset.Bottom line: if you’re curious about animation but don’t want to invest a lot, this is a great place to start. It showcases some of Moho’s best features, is functional for creating standalone productions and allows for further expansion with the optional Pro version.

The description made it seem straightforward and easy to learn, but even the beginner setting is tricky with hidden buttons. We will have to find some YouTube tutorials and try again. Definitely not as easy as I thought it would be.

Not happy at all. I bought this as a gift. The serial number provided on does not work at all. I will have to return this item.

Was looking for some basic animation software on my main PC.Most of my software is very old and was wanting to try something new.This is a budget friendly piece of software and thought it would be great to try out.InstallationUse provided optical disc or you may download the software.Serial Number Card, keep in a safe place. This is the only copy.Write down SN as a backup. Install, then restart PC.Register the software.Checked and install any updates.The software.When you open up the software.Center screen pop up has some options.Click "Introductory Tutorial"This will get you started fast.The first 50 pages will get you the basic understanding of the software (aka Quick Start)Any assets needed while going along with the tutorials are installed. Very helpful.Forum and Social Networks are two more options.Buy Add-Ons is the last option.Characters, backgrounds etc.They are expensive, best deal is to get one of the bundles.But the best way is to create your own from scratch, using the software.The manual is a total of 329 pages. (even goes over features that are in the pro version)Drawing tutorial is pages 51-97, Bones 104-157, Images 160-175, Animation 179-229, Effects 233-269.Negatives.Project Settings, the max project size is 900x900. (standard HD size would be better)Not a positive or negative, the frame rate max is 120.Positives.Scatter brush is fun, but the blob brush is very clever.Vector shapes can be drawn in the software.Custom brushes can be created, and then used.Audio recording is possible, just select your audio source and hit record.Built in character wizard, super easy to create a walking character.Exports look perfect.Tip.Making a custom brush!Start with a square document. Create the vector with no background.Render, save as .png. Save to the brush folder, restart software.Now the brush will be usable the next time you need to apply a brush.Overall.The tutorials walk you through what is needed to get up and running fast.Sample files are all included and that is awesome.I'm more comfortable drawing with other vector software that I own,but creating with the vector tools in this software is very usable.Feels like I've used this before, that's a good thing.Tools on the left, controls up top, style and layers on the right, timeline on the bottom.A few small things that make the software excellent: Hidden Edges, and creating vector holes.Creating quick small animations is fun. Can export as image sequence or a video file.The more I use it, the faster I go from the concept to a completed animation.Look over the manual, as it shows what features are only in the pro version.Decide if you can use this or if you'll need the pro version features.I can make this version work for me and still get out some nice quick animations with little experience.Hope this was helpful.
