Beautiful Pottery dish for Bacon....NO TOXIC chemicals to worry about!
If you live in the US - you know that 99% of bacon dishes are made of some type of plastic. Our old bacon tray showed substantial melting due to the use of the repeated microwave use. It dawned on me one day that this means we are literally eating some of the material as it melts into our bacon. So - I began searching for a glass bacon dish - something that could not melt. My search for a glass bacon tray turned out fruitless - but I found this little pottery dish on Amazon - so I thought to myself - "hey - this could work!" So I ordered it! I cannot begin to tell you how AWESOME this tray is! It is so solid (and really pretty) that I am considering buying other pieces for the oven [and that says a lot as I never have considered using a pottery dish before]. The time to clean my old tray after using it for bacon was laborious...scrubbing and scrubbing to get out the baked on bacon remnants and I always dreaded it. Not this dish...it literally almost rinses off by itself (ps - let is cool completely before attempting to clean)! I could not believe my eyes. The only not so great thing about it is the size as only 4 pieces can fit on it but honestly - it was not a big deal to cook 4 pieces and then start with another 4 when the first batch was done. I really do wish the same company would make a larger tray - I would buy it in a heartbeat! But for now, I will put up with the small size because of the positives I mentioned. I might end by saying that the bacon turns out PERFECT in this tray - The pottery really doesn't even get that hot (not a scorching hot as the plastic one anyway) and it has nice little 'handles' to use (not sure of the right word here) which really are not that hot. I regret not knowing about this bacon tray long ago - I could have saved myself years of misery trying to clean it up. Not to mention what I probably was ingesting.

Beautiful pottery and it works great!
I bought this Blue Rose Polish Pottery Red Poppy Bacon Cooker back in January. When I received the bacon cooker it was boxed really well because it is breakable. The first box I opened was full of Styrofoam peanuts and a second box was nestled inside those peanuts. When I got the second box out and opened it is was full of peanuts too. The bacon cooker was wrapped with bubble wrap and was in the middle of the peanuts. I was very impressed with how well it was shipped. The bacon cooker came intact and is as beautiful as the picture on it's page and the craftsmanship is unbeatable. It works great too! It cooks the bacon evenly and catches all the grease. I like that it is versatile in its uses either in the microwave, oven, freezer and that it is dishwasher safe. I have only hand washed it so far though. I have attached pictures of the bacon cooker at all angles. I also attached a before bacon is cooked picture and a after picture. I bought this cooker because I wanted to get away from the plastic one that I have due to the plastic is starting to break down and I don't think that would be very healthy because of that. This bacon cooker is a great addition to my kitchen and I am glad I purchased it. I think this cooker could easily become a family heirloom because of it's quality and beauty. I am thinking of buying more items from Blue Rose Polish Pottery in the future.

Cracked in 3 months of normal use... not impressed, but doesn't seem to have hurt it
Update:We've continued using the platter since it cracked in the microwave (for maybe a year?) and we don't seem to have had any further issues. It hasn't developed any more cracks the one crack hasn't spread, doesn't seem to have any problems in the dishwasher either. So still the best bacon solution out there.Original Review:It's a beautiful platter and we thought our long search for a way to easily make bacon on the microwave was settled - my mother, brother and mother in law all wanted one too... and it worked great for about 3 months until it cracked in our microwave making bacon. We make bacon about once per week and this weekend we heard a loud pop / crack noise while the bacon was cooking. We're concerned about continuing to use it even when cracked because we're not sure if it's still food safe and we're not sure if the next crack could damage our new microwave.Reached out to the seller and they said the item has to have broken within 30 days of purchase to be considered a factory defect. Uh huh. An item has to last more than a few months to be considered "durable" too so don't believe the description. Our search for a good way to microwave bacon continues. Unfortunately this was a rather expensive detour. Overall, not impressed - I'd say save your money.

Do not pass this up
Where have you been my entire life?I have used it for the first time today. It was amazing. I did not have any issues with use or clean up. There were no hot spots that burned the bacon. The glaze held up and no cracks formed. (it is not made in china)CLEAN UP WAS SO EASY!!! I did not have to spend an hour and 45 minutes scrubbing it down unlike the plastic one I used to have. It was just a simply wipe down with paper towels and a quick wash. There was no scrubbing, fingers turning to prunes....I love it.Did I mention it was in bubble wrap, in a box, in bubble wrap....in another box with fragile markings all over it? Very well packed when shipped. The only kind of complaint....wish they made a lid for it to keep the grease from splattering the inside of microwave. But I will survive and find one on my own.Well worth the money just on clean up alone.

Beautifully made...for tiny bacon.
A lovely, well-made ceramic. But you must cut your bacon in pieces to fit. Bacon in Poland must be smaller than American bacon. I will use it for small indoor potted plants.

Why would anyone cook bacon in a microwave?
The polish pottery bacon trays I purchased are very pretty and cooked the bacon nicely, but I don’t know why anyone would use them in the microwave to cook bacon.

Beautiful dish of great quality
I offered this to my mom after breaking her old bacon dish and she is very happy with it. Worth the price just for that!
