Invaluable tool to have when it comes to building custom vehicles.My one complaint is it is not black like in the picture, though I won't take away any stars since it does not affect the quality of the tool. This is a nice quality bob, you can spend more money and get one not as nice as this. This one has got some good weight on it, I like how its attached it keeps it hanging perfectly straight. Comes with plenty of string, way to much for my needs of building cars but cant complain about that and I'm sure that's a big bonus for other people. Definitely happy with this product, glad I grabbed a couple of them and recommend this one to everyone looking for one.

It wouldnt be bad if the string is a little longer and the hole that the string goes through is so small that you need a toothpick to push it through the hole(and who carries that in their toolbox

its solid metal.. no sarcasm intended here i expected it to be a shell with a lead weight in the bottom, the string is abit cheap but thats kinda knit picky. overall its a decent plumb bob, if your looking for something for commercial use id spend the money on something better (no ability to make chalk line).. but i digress.. for ~8$ it does in-fact beat everything else. weighed it on a scale (yea i got bored) its actually closer to 12.4oz but i suspect they have looser machining tolerances and just list the min spec weight of a sample.. basicly if your buying this to hang a bunch of those one above the other prints; just buy it.

Some assembly required, but at least they give you the string. Fully extended, it will swing around a bit on a windy day, at least with the 8-oz. version.

I had a cheapo chrome plumb bob for years, and found this one on sale and knew I had some layout work coming up, so I bought it, it is much easier to use and more accurate because the shape allows you to see the point more easily than the one I am going to put on a table at the garage sale, which is flat sided except for the last 3/4 inch, making it more difficult to actually look down at the point, which is the business end. Until I used a good one, didn't know there was a difference.I don't need one all that often, but it is so pretty, makes me want to hang it up in the house somewhere, maybe on a beaded brass chain.... until I need it again.;-)

Works as it's supposed to. Bit cheaper here then in stores. Like others suggested the string is cheap, replace with a better one

Very happy with it. Needed a replacement for my transit, due to the loss of the other one. Is actually better than the original one

Good weight, nice machining, the point is really on the middle.Rope is really flimsy, stays bend and literally do not stop spinning.... never stops! It really freaking me out, so I swapped it out.
