Carlinkit 4.0 Achieve Wireless CarPlay & Android Auto Adapter, 2 in 1 - Fit for Factory Wired CarPlay Cars from 2015 to Now, Plug & Play, No Latency, 10s Auto Connect After Set

Have it on my Audi RS3 2017 (which has built-in wired CarPlay), it auto connects with my phone on start-up and the lag is low/minimal. I did not have the update the firmware so it was just plug and play and the blue colour Is very dark.

I was going to get the Motorola MA1. Unfortunately, it is scarce and is currently selling over MSRP. So, I waited for this 4.0 version with the promise it would work with Android Auto.Unfortunately, it does not.What it does do is connect to the car and runs Apple car play which then emulates Android Auto. So, when in the system, it shows that Apple Car play is running, but the screen shows the Android Auto.The problem with this is that Android Auto does not work as it should. The screen is cut off and the touch screen is either unresponsive or slow.I tried to reach tech support but the web site states they do not provide any support for devices purchased through Amazon.I tried to update the firmware but the web site was unresponsive and timed out.Forget this system for Android Auto.This is a non-starter.

This thing actually works well if you have a normal 16:9ish aspect ratio screen. Connection is quick and has been stable in AA and CP. Sound quality is a step down from wired but is acceptable for a car stereo. I didn't have any issues with touch screen responsiveness.Unfortunately I will be returning as it really does not work with widescreen implementations on AA. I think it works by faking carplay and ends up just stretching the android auto screen and looks pretty awful. Also the version update page does not load so wasn't able to see if a system update would resolve this.

I have a 2021 RAV4 Hybrid which comes with factory CarPlay. I'm fine with plugging in my iPhone 13 Pro for long trips in order to keep the phone charged while using CarPlay, but I longed for just jumping in the car for short, local trips and having CarPlay on for mapping, calls and messaging features. This Carlinkit 4.0 device fits the bill perfectly. I mounted the device the front console area using some Gorilla Mounting Puddy to keep it up and out of the way. (see image). I keep the device plugged in and it takes about 45 seconds from vehicle startup for my phone to be fully connected and CarPlay running. For me this is a very acceptable boot up time as it takes almost this long to back out of my garage and driveway and get on the road. (Since the USB input cuts power when the car is off, the device also turns off and is not sucking power when the car is not on.) The responsiveness of the CarPlay commands is no different than when I was using wired CarPlay. If I need to charge my phone, then I just wire my phone in to a different charge port. It is nice that the CarPlay display shows my phone's state of charge and cellular signal power. Definitely recommend.

I've been looking for an android auto solution for my 2019 Rav4 which only has built in carplay. This device works perfect for my needs. It connects fast automatically in ~20-30 secs.Also, it's pretty small, doesn't take much space. It has elegant design. The instructions are clear. It is plug and play basically.I love it so far, I'll update my comment as I use it by time.
