Worked perfectly out of the box on Win 11
I had been screwing around for days trying to make Ham Radio Delux work on my old FT897 and a new MiniS Win 11 mini-PC using my old Prolific cable. The old cable never connected properly and there were driver and Com port problems.Based on its description of working with Win 11, I ordered this new cable. It arrived about 24 hours later, nicely boxed. I did not use the included CD, since it automatically downloaded the proper drivers. In 5 minutes or less (once I had set the baud rate to 4800) all was running perfectly! I should have gone this route in the first place. The diagnostic lights are an added bonus. I'm very pleased.

DB-9 plug is wider than DIN standard, i.e. it may not fit and interfere with neighboring ports!!!
The Adapter makes a very good and solid impression, however, I cannot comment on its function, because the DB9 plug is larger than DIN norm, i.e. unless you have enough left-right clearance the serial port adapter will not fit and interfere with the neighboring ports or the devices' housing. I would love to use it, but there is not enough space for the plug on my standard-spaced computer interface. That is truly unfortunate. I would suggest to post the physical dimension of the blue plastic encasement for the serial port in the product description to avoid other customers experiencing the same issue. It goes without saying that dimensions should be posted in S.I. units; U.S. customary units could be an add-on, but must not be the standard.

This one is made right
There are two types of USB to serial cable. There are the ones where all pins are wired correctly, and there are those that only wire the pins needed for connection to a serial modem. Me, I'm a ham operator and wired the Serial end to a circuit board that needed the DTR and RTS working. It worked with this cable, so apparently all pins are wired. Good to know.

Works great with a new computer!
Purchased this to allow WinSen to control an old gate system, and it works great with a brand new computer controlling the dinosaur-old gate system. It's been running for a while now (more than a few months, I think) and I haven't heard any complaints. The old RadioShack adapter my client was using had barely-functioning drivers for Windows 10; when we built them a new computer, the old adapter stopped working entirely. We swapped the old adapter out for this one and it works great.
