Too much vulgarity
I couldn’t get into the book because there was so much foul language in the beginning I just put it down and never picked it up again

Incoherent
Unfortunately, I can‘t be convinced - the frame work, the tenants and Yessie, in my humble opinion lacked coherence, as did the stories they told. To me, many of them were rather random and lacking in profoundness. The bliss of a collaborative novel only started to show more towards the end when the stories became more experimental and complex - but in the end, just 20 or so pages towards the end, I could hardly bring myself to finish.

Fourteen Days was written by wonderful authors but I just did not enjoy it that much
Sad to say, I didn't finish the book. I tried but just found the book overall depressing and just not my cup of tea. I loaned it to a friend to see if she would do better with it and she told me the same thing, she couldn't get into it. So sorry to have to say this. I've read several books having to do with Covid experiences people went through but this one was just a bit too deep for me I guess.

Enjoyable Read
Multiple authors contribute to the book. Apparently, it matches the stories to the authors at the end of the book, but I haven’t peeked. Somehow that would spoil it for me. The characters mention incidents that I had forgotten. However, there’s an unspoken remembrance of families who were separated when they needed them most and the lives lost, some alone. As the characters, gathered together in the evenings on the roof of a tenement building, tell stories, some true, some maybe not, they bond and celebrate life. It would have been a pleasant way to spend the pandemic.
