The last cherry pitter I had fell apart halfway through a large bucket of cherries so I wanted to make sure the next one was built to last and this one is. No problem at all "pitting" my way through about 20lbs of cherries. Pitting went quickly and that little scoop looking thing on the end allows you to "roll" the cherry into the hole perfectly to snap the pitter. Perfect.No need to adjust the cherry since the pit is in the middle so it can be pitted at any angle. Probably about 95-98% efficient at pitting most cherries. I did find some of the cherry pits were missed.Only difficultly I had was trying to figure out how to get it working. I had to check questions and answers to find someone who figured it out since it came with no instructions. The little black tab on the back end needs to be pushed in and it snaps right open. To lock it back up, hold it together and and pull the tab out.

I went cherry picking.. and my eyes are always bigger than my stomach. I ended up having to freeze a gallon worth of cherries and did not want to freeze them with pits in them, so I bought this pitter. It worked pretty well, so long as the pit is big enough, on occasion it would poke a hole through the whole cherry but the pit would still be in the cherry. Overall, it worked for what I needed it to about 95% of the time.. the 5% being me having to check my cherries later to make sure I didn't miss any pits. It was easy to clean and easy to use, but was a little tiring towards the end of the batch.

One squeeze of handle and pit it out. We bought two because it works so great!

I like the simplicity of the design and ease of use.

the item does what it is supposed to do. easy to clean, handy closure tab (although it is hard to push or pull), easy to use. The issue I had is, After pitting my first 10 cherries, the pitter part (that pushes the pit through) detached from the handle. finished my first 5lb with it falling out every 4th or 5th cherry. Before I started working on my second box (18lb), I got some gorilla glue out and got it stuck in there good. Worked like a charm after that.
