Psyc Monic vs Anker SoundCore vs DOSS Boombox
Was looking for a decent but cheap portable bluetooth speaker, after looking at various top 10's and reviews I whittled it down to the Anker Soundcore, the Doss Boombox and this the Sumvision Psyc Monic. Couldn't split them based on reviews alone so cheekily ordered all three to compare them for myself. There was only one winner, the Psyc Monic absolutely blew the other two out of the water, not even in the same league and to be fair they aren't as the Psyc's secret weapon is the absolutely sublime passive subwoofer which just takes the depth and quality of the audio to whole other level that the other two simply cant compete with. Don't get me wrong the Anker is a cracking little speaker but for the extra £7 I cant understand why anyone wouldn't pay that little bit extra for a whole lot more. To put it in a nutshell, The Anker and the Doss are like listening to good portable bluetooth speakers (Anker outperformed the DOSS by the way), the Psyc is like listening to a stereo system. The only negative as most have mentioned is battery life performance, which is at the lower end of the scale, 7hrs is clearly a stretch of a claim, but its something personally i'm willing to accept as a trade off for the superb performance, others however may not. Other notable points; the design is simple but stylish, build quality is clearly premium and as the old saying goes with speakers the heavier the better and well this feels like a small brick! The small percentage of negative reviews I can only put down to unlucky faulty units, as my experience has been overwhelmingly positive. Purchase with confidence fellow Amazonians.

Could have been the perfect bluetooth speaker, except for one MASSIVE flaw
This could have been a fantastic product. The sound quality is amazing for a product of this size and had a decent battery life. But one year down the road, the battery stopped charging correctly. The device now shuts down when battery is empty (which can be very random, sometimes I will get 20 minutes or so, sometimes an hour) Here is the flaw: even when connected to power, it does not work. It is basically a bulky paperweight. When I contacted support, I was informed politely that the warranty had run out (despite there being an EU regulation that states that all products in the EU have a 2 year waranty...)So in conclusion, my love affair with the PSYC Monic was shortlived. I cannot understand how such a basic feature - bypassing the battery- could have been overlooked. Very sad and diasppointed.

these are very good, its actually encased in metal and the front ...
these are very good, its actually encased in metal and the front and back shrouds also seem to be metal, I have dropped it many times and also ran over it with with an electric vehicle, and had it in heavy rain and it has not broken. The battery lasts about 4 or 5 hours on full volume with the mp3 player I use, I noticed if you use it with a modern phone the volume can be louder, this will probably mean the battery only will last 2 or 3 hours though. You can charge it while its playing if you bring the charging cable and have one of those USB battery charging things. The sound is not bad it doesn't hurt my ears which is surprising from a cheap speaker. It has strong bass for what it is. I had an Anker speaker which is one of the most popular ones on amazon but it broke after 1 month, that speaker had better midrange but much less noticable bass.

Psyc! Best budget speaker by far.
Compared to Bose colour and a similar product from Aukey, this blows them away. The sound is so full and clear with excellent sub bass. Does very well at filling a space with sound. I first came across it when my mate brought one with him to a job in Portugal to use outside, and it was the envy of everyone. Real stereo sound and volume. I borrowed his speaker again a year later and it's still going strong so I bought one of my own.The first one I ordered had a strange distortion/interference sound that you could hear at low volumes. I could hear it as soon as I turned it on and nothing was playing yet.I was disappointed so returned it and ordered the Aukey one, but it just wasn't the same and had nowhere near as much bass as I was expecting, so I ordered another Psyc in the hope it wouldn't have the same noise issue and it doesn't, very happy. Can't comment on battery life yet but you can use it whilst plugged in to usb anyway.

Seriously good speaker
Genuinely surprised at how good the sound quality is for the price - had read numerous reviews of various speakers before purchasing, and hoped this would be good, but it exceeded expectation by miles, and even met with the approval of 17 year old and friends. Great sound, easily portable, and easy and quick to charge. Definitely recommend - in fact planning to buy a second as this one keeps being borrowed!
