Mounting hints
I bought this recently and successfully installed it after a careful reading of the directions. I, too, wanted to see it fully flexed down which is nearly impossible before full installation. Here's why. I mounted this on the wall in front of my desk and wanted the lowest part of my monitor to be about 3 or 4 inches above the top of my desk. So where should the holes go in the wall stud to achieve that??Here is the short answer: the center of the VESA mount goes down to be a little above the lower hole in the wall.So I measured from the bottom of my monitor to the center of the mounting holes (NOT in the center of the monitor itself, by the way) and then added my 4 inches. In my case, the answer is 11 inches so the bottom hole is drilled into the wall stud 11 inches above the desk surface. I have the result I wanted and would not have been able to do that just by looking at the arm before installation.Other hints from my job just finished: the wall my case is an outside wall with foil backing that renders a stud finder useless, so I drilled tiny pilot holes to find the stud.I detached the arm from the wall mount piece before screwing the wall mount to the stud.I used a socket wrench to drive the lag screws, but it needs to have metric sockets. Otherwise use the "socket" that fits on the end of the allen wrench. My LG 24 inch monitor weighs about 11 pounds and needed a surprising amount of tightening of the +/- adjustment to keep the monitor from rising to full up by itself. With a hint in another review, I was able to tighten the forward tilt of the monitor. My monitor "fell" to a downward tilt almost facing the top of the desk. The cap for that adjustment is not some little cover like what covers the bolts on the wall mount; no, the hinge in question is entirely exposed when two halves of the cover are removed. They sit just behind the VESA mounting plate. Don't be looking for a small cap.The only other thing to be aware of, also mentioned elsewhere, is that doesn't go in and out without also swinging to one side or the other. My previous experience with wall mounts had something like an "X" hinged in the middle to go from a short X to a tall X when you pushed it in. This mount only gets closer to the wall by swinging from side to side. It works fine, you just have to allow for that if you can during installation. In my case, there was only one reasonable choice of a wall stud to use.I suspect there is a newer model from the manufacturer that might make installation easier, but with these hints, you can take advantage of this sale price for a mounting arm that is well built and well designed.

It works great for my office screen
It was easy to install. It goes up and down and swings around very smoothly. I am very happy of my purchase. I use it for my laptop’s second screen. You cannot move the arm when it is not installed. Once you install it and add your screen then the magic happens and things start working.

Cannot best the price / quality
Nice mount. Very sturdy, nice tight joints, smooth movement, excellent paint/enamel. Easily holds a 27” LCD TV. A few turns on the gas shock adjustment and the arm was perfectly balanced. If you want the TV to be flush with the wall, the base of the mount needs to be offset from center. The bright yellow logo (obviously purloined from New Balance shoes) can be peeled off for a clean, all-metal look. With respect to hardware, they include VESA screws. For my TV, the screws were a couple millimeters too long. An Allen wrench is included for adjusting the gas shock’s tension. The only low is that the cable management loops are not strong. If you have a stiff cable running through them, the cable will likely dislodge the thin, plastic holders.Overall, you cannot beat the price/quality. Great value. I expect this to last a long time.

This will Work.
The price of the product is fair. To be honest, tapper your expectations. The instructions and hardware that come with it is passable. The instructions will be clear, they even included pictures. The cable management is sound, and the level imbedded in the product is a great addition. If you need a wall mount for a midsize monitor that won't break the bank, then this will Work.ConI don't know if this will be a deal breaker for some, but the arm's gas power is stronger than expected. I haven't found a way to get granular adjustment control of it.

Perfect!
I’ve actually really enjoyed this wall mount. I got it to put a small tv on and love that I can raise it up out of kiddo reach and then lower it for some fun movie nights. It was super easy to install and adjust for my needs. I’ve had it for a while now and it adjusts and holds as good as day one. I love it. Definitely a good find.
