Additional Sealing is Required to Make this Weather Tight -Updated/6 month review
6 Month Update w/additional images(sad):Today I noticed that the mail slot door was jammed in its opening. Vandals or an overzealous/buff mailman trying to stuff round mail in a rectangular hole? Nope. Closer inspection found one of the door's hinges at the bottom of the drop box. I appears that the welds were only at 3 small points at the hinge outer edge. These welds had minimal contact/ penetration to the body of the door and that the paint (perhaps structural paint?) was likely providing as much attachment as the welds (see images). What a shame, but a perfect example of the adage 'a chain is only as strong as its weakest link'.Original Review follows:I purchased the Pochar Door Drop Box to help prevent the 'mailbox bandits' stealing from our outside box. Since the Pochar Door Drop Box mounts through and inside the door, I expect the additional door structure should provide some additional barrier from theft. The box appears to be well made and is of adequate thickness of steel and painted to a textured surface.Install was not difficult. No template is provided, so one must either make their own or use the exterior weather hood as a guide. Take care in making the cuts to allow for minimal clearance to prevent large gaps between the box and where it passes through the door. Although the instructions don't specify sealing, I would recommend this since some reviewers have commented on leaking. It is necessary to seal the area between the box where it passes through the door (see areas in red highlight in image) since there is no inner seal on the inside and outside flanges. Without an additional sealant, wind, rain, etc will pass through this area. I used a tubular foam 'caulk saver' rod in this area. I also recommend that the contact surfaces of the inner and exterior flange's perimeter be sealed with a silicone sealant before securing them with the included hardware to prevent rain from passing between the door and the flange. One must be careful when tightening the included hardware as the threads are 'coarse' and will easily strip if over tightened. In all, this mail/drop box is a good security option compared to an exterior box, however as supplied, the design clearly lacks in preventing foul weather from affecting energy efficiency, but can be made better.

Cut out template is wrong, best to work off actual part
Cutout template is wrong for product, don't waste your time, it won't fit in. Draw the outline from the actual part and add 1/4". When you close door, the slot door will pivot to open position, bad for energy efficiency, added small magnetic strips to make counterweight , now functions perfectly.
