For some reason the bad reviews from 3 years ago are floating to the top when I look at this item but I'm here to tell you this is a good solid purchase! Is it possible to buy a higher quality lamp? SURE...Will it cost you 2 to 4 times as much $$? PROBABLY. If you want a very reasonably priced lamp for a desk or work space that is still fairly well made, THIS IS IT. Also, despite what some of the other reviews report, the clamp that holds on to the desk is all metal, and I think as long as you don't go crazy tightening it, it should hold up just fine.***NOTE: Some of the reviews refer to an "extra set of springs" that comes with the lamp. Just wanted to point out these are actually the springs for the top portion of the lamp arm. They remove them for shipping so the lamp can be folded into the box.

This lamp is well-made, and extremely adjustable. It is superior functionally to any desk lamp that just sits on the desk, unless you are concerned about decor. The lamp shade is big enough to cover a standard LED bulb. If you buy a lamp with a shade that is too small, you will regret it. The clamp is metal, and is superior to the plastic clamp that comes with similar lamps. The clamp will fit a desk thickness of up to 2 1/8", and your desk needs a lip 2" wide to properly clamp it on. If your thickness is too much, or your lip too narrow, you can drill a hole (approximately 1/2"; just don't drill it too big) in your desk to fit the lamp base. Then install a large washer over the hole to keep the lamp base from digging into the desk. I have several lamps installed this way. Many desks these days have holes drilled to accommodate cables, etc., so no diff.

The studio, catching up with my friends and doing nothing and sleeping in. It takes me sometime to break the ice whenever there’s a gap in my relationship with my friends. This lamp and the conversation around fastened the ice-breaking process. Isn’t it the main reason we buy things? Well it is for me. But not all objects have the same impact as this amazing lamp. This lamp, with its humble body posture looking don the table, illuminates the conversation in an amazingly unexpected way. It made us to remember forgotten details of a forgotten moment in our lives. Papers, pens, inks, rulers and the hardships we went through before computers and design softwares. Stationeries. Soon to be obsolete. It all seems sweet from the distance of time and technology.We always dealt with light and lamps. I studied graphic design and Mahan did architecture. He wants to draw again. In his tiny beautiful apartment where he had just moved in after all the dramas that have no room in this review. Put it up and after 3 hours came to find the lamp on the floor with a broken clamp. Because I read the previous reviewes with the same issues, I was very carefull, did not force the clamp and left it in a secure location.Again, It did not work. I expect the company to contact me and return my money. Cheap and terrible product

Just got this lamp and was wondering if it would have a plastic clamp for attaching it to surfaces, or if the arms might be made out of plastic. What I got instead was a basic, functional lamp that seems sturdily built with metal parts. It doesn't look indestructible, but it looks plenty good enough for what I need. Of course, it's new. If it fails I will not hesitate to update my review.It got me wondering about the negative reports from earlier reviewers, and then I realized that I probably have them to thank for getting a sturdy functional lamp. I suspect that, in the amazon.com ecosystem, negative reviews are poison and that manufacturers update their designs to get better reviews. So I want to thank the early reviewers for their contributions to making a better lamp!

This is my second lamp from this manufacturer. My first was about 4 years ago and the paperwork was long gone when I decided to upgrade the lighting over my hobby desk. I really wanted another one since the first has proven itself flexible and stable and trouble free. But without the manufacturer's name, I just looked for products which might work as well. Chose one, and it turned out to be the same manufacturer, same lamp in black instead of silver. Tried it at several spots on the desk for the best angle of lighting and like the first one, it fits solid and flexible at each one. I'm very pleased with it.

This lamp is an excellent addition to a small workbench. I'd only used the bench for some small electronics projects, but the lamp makes it much more versatile and usable. Great range of motion allows placing light exactly on the right spot, and a 500 lumen LED spotlight bulb gives plenty of light and the lamp itself never gets even slightly warm. Many reviewers ding this item for the mounting clamp, but that was not an issue for me as I had no edge to clamp it to and I had to fabricate my own mount anyway. Actually several, I drilled 1/2" holes in various locations around the bench that fit the stem of the light, and it can be easily moved to whichever is the most convenient. Very pleased with the quality and the price.

Let's get this straight. There are TWO bases being offered here. Option 1 has a stand that falls over by itself. Option 2 has a metal clamp and fully articulating arms and is probably what you're actually looking for if you're here. Option 2 is excellent. SO: buy option 2 if you want the clamp, articulating arms, a wide shade, all metal construction and an all around excellent lamp. Or buy the IKEA option if you think option 1 looks good. Very sturdy, it goes on all directions you want it to and the encasing around the bulb protects your eyes from getting a direct shine. Honestly, I was first looking at all these fancy led lights with adjustable settings but I don't want a fancy expensive led light that I won't ever be able to change the bulb to if smth happens. rn I have this inexpensive setup, still led and saving energy, a pretty good deal

The first one showed up with some of it hanging out of the box...no biggy, it was the part that goes into the table mount. It wasn't damaged. However the box was a mess, the top and bottom were not taped shut. Just with the pressure of picking it up, both ends opened...wonder how many times that happened during shipping. So as I was assembling the light, I got to the part where you join the fixture to the arm...nothing in directions...oh, wait, it's supposed to come joined. The part that connects the two is plastic, it had snapped....back it went. New one came faster than the first one, and had the same part sticking out of the box...maybe a bigger box folks? This time the box was taped on both ends.. ..and I had the right amount of parts. This one, however, has it's own annoying behavior...the shade will come off with very little encouragement. I pushed the lamp away from me and it fell off. I taped it. I've had it for roughly two weeks, was using it yesterday, for most of the day, went to turn it off, and it wouldn't...I got the right click sounds when turning the knob...just no result. I unplugged it, waited till the morning to give it another go, it worked fine...SO, it gets to hot, and when it does, it won't shut off...I wonder how that would fly with safety standards. It's ONLY good feature is that the mount is metal rather than plastic. I have two lights with magnifying glass that had plastic mounts that broke within a week of having them (not from Amazon...however, same lamp is sold here) I use a table clamp for industrial sewing to hold them...works a treat. So, given my experience, I'd say it's over priced, low in quality and the odds of getting a fully functioning one seem to be slim.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS REVIEW IS FOR THE CLAMP VERSION, NOT THE FIXED BASE VERSION. I only bought the clamp version and can only speak to that.I bought 2 of the clamp versions to affix to my windowsill to give my plants some more light in the winter. I screwed in a LED grow bulb and my plants seem happy. The lamp assembles simply and seems to be great quality.Only removing a star as the knobs that tighten the position of the lamp don't seem to lock the position very sturdily.

En cuanto a la altura es la adecuada ya que su brazo puede alcanzar una altura bastante generosa para no tener el foco encima de ti.
