very worthwhile presentation of temperament for a popular audience
Dr. Drenth's descriptions of each of the MBTI temperaments gives a good account of each type, that is certainly deeper than what we usually encounter at a popular level. Thus, if you know your type from an assessment or have a fairly good idea where an assessment would place you, reading about your type and related types (say by changing one letter) in this book can be a worthwhile exercise. Despite the ambiguity and relative nature of personality assessment, the ready availability of a meaningful description that shows clearly its theoretical basis can be interesting and worthwhile in terms of helping to understand us humans and the characteristic behaviors we display. The author's point of view is based on the functional stacking (using the eight functions Ti, Te, Fi, Fe, etc.), which provides a common theoretical perspective to address each personality type. Dr. Drenth writes well and provides many clear explanations for his thinking. This book can be highly recommended as going into discussion of temperaments as deeply, clearly and with as profound an insight as can possibly be achieved for a presentation intended for a popular audience.

better insight into the types
I really enjoyed this book because it gave me more insight about not only my type, but other types too. As an introverted intuitive it was especially informative due to the author's own type falling in this area. I was hoping for a bit more on my type, INFP, though. Still, there was helpful information for my type and I find this topic very interesting and significant to daily life.

Shows Favoritism to certain types.
This book is just okay. What I didn't like is how it dedicates 20 pages to INFJ, 30 pages to INTJ, but then other types got 10 or less pages. The INTJ portion felt excessive. It wasn't saying much but the author just keep droning on and on about it. Even though I am an Intuitive, I found the favoritism for INFJ, INTJ and INTP annoying

Excellent- really helpful.
I've read a lot about Myers Briggs personality types and this is the best book that I have ever found on the subject. MB was intended to also highlight the more subtle aspects and interplay of dominant versus non-dominant traits, as this reveals very important insights into each type. Many books and articles on Myers Briggs personality types don't therefore cover all of the intended territory, but this one does, and with great depth and insight. I really learned a lot more about my own type and also my girlfriends type. Very helpful!I also found the quality of the writing to be clear and illuminating. The book took me to a deeper level of understanding of MB type dynamics and for the most part, without losing me..

Useful information about each type I haven't read elsewhere
I've been studying type on and off for a couple of years now, built I've never delved that seriously into all the type "functions" -- extranets dwelling verses introverted feeling. this book really lays it out well. However, as others have noted, these are well-written blog entries bundled in book form. Nothing wrong with that, as they flow well in this form. That said, I wish three relationship and career sections for each type were included. I noticed several typos in my type profile as well.Overall, however, excellent and at just the right price.

An enlightenment on the Mechanism of Personality
Explains the mechanism of personality in an easy-to-understand language that is free of jargon. Could be helpful at a domestic, social, academic, and professional levels. Also, may help people understand why someone behaves the way he or she does, let alone helping the person him- or herself realize why they act the way they do. Highly recommend without a doubt.
