Beware the ink featured to buy with this printer does not work with this printer!
The printer is fine, although, the starter ink is more than a little skimpy and the black ink was used up with less than 50 copies printed. The insult came when I tried to replace the ink which was listed with this printer and the error message was "wrong ink cartridge" NOT only on the printer but my computer. Maybe I was too trusting, assuming that if the printer was frequently bought with this ink it must be the right ink ? Seemed logical that if the item also displayed "frequently bought together" with this printer, then it would be the right ink, yes? ... NO. Too late to try and return as it has been 6 months, but also, I cracked opened the cellophane of the ink itself. Expensive mistake.

Be prepared to spend money on ink cartridges
The printer is a nice inexpensive option for users who do not have a high frequency for printing or a need for high quality. Very easy to install and operate. However, the cartridges do not last very long. I have had my printer for about 6 months and I have gone through 2 sets of cartridges. Replacements are around $50.

Fantastic
As a preface - I got this printer used for $50 - Quite a deal. Before this, I had an HP very compact all-in-one printer I got on sale for around $75. I realized it couldn't do what I needed it to, so I returned it. I didn't notice it printing poorly, I guess I'm used to crappy printers. Then here comes along this one and changes everything. I think it's pretty, it was cheaper, AND it prints exactly how I need it to. The scanning quality is also awesome, way better than the scanners I've used before.Considering the fact that I got it for $50, I think I would have no room to complain even if it was poor. But it's not, which is a massive bonus! I love this printer.

JUNK
Finally unboxed this printer after having it a few months I decided to make copies of tax returns that I have been putting off I followed the instructions to a T and everything seem to be working just fine until I had to change the cartridge I changed the cartridge like I have done on numerous printers they're all basically the same now alls it does is throw up error codes after error codes I even had a friend who works at an office supply store make sure I was doing it correctly I have repeated the process numerous times and have come to the realization you get what you pay for and I guess I just paid for junk buyer beware

Easy set up
I had an HP, and every couple of weeks it had an error, so I had to take it off, and upload new drivers. Time and time again, the drivers had an error in uploading, and I couldn't use my printer. I was sick of having to worry if I would be able to print from my computer. I ordered the Canon. It was the easiest printer to set up, and could be set up with WIFI and phone. I plugged it in, added the ink, and in two or three steps, I was printing.....no problem. I have since ordered more ink, because I am not sure how long it lasts. The price of the ink is cheaper for me than the time spent on something that didn't work every time.

prints nicely but slowly
This printer prints slowly, but with decent quality. Text is easy to read and pictures are near-photo quality. Scanning is relatively easy and gives quality at least as clear as scanning using a phone, and does not require the "flattening" required by phone scanning apps. Works well over USB and WiFi (from phones/tablets). Sufficient for home-office (occasional printing) use, but would not recommend if printing documents every day or needing to print more than 10 pages at once.

This printer was easy to set up and easy to use.
This printer could be better, but i am just grateful it works when i need it to. Wish it had the 2-sided printing without manually flipping it over. But that is a minor inconvenience. That i can work around. At this time, I am glad to find a printer that works when i need it instead of whenever it feels like it, like the last one did. I have changed from instant ink to regular pay as you go ink and use a USB cord, that may be the difference.

Would not recommend
In a rush to have to have access to a scanner I purchased this without reading the reviews and I paid the price for that hasty decision. The machine works, but I believe I could have made a much better purchase had I done the slightest bit of research. This issues I encountered were:1. I purchased the ink cartridge set that was recommended with this printer and once it was delivered I found that it was not compatible.2. The ink that was provided with the printer itself ran out extremely quickly. Half of the black cartridge was used after I printed 13 pages.3. Setup wasn’t simple - I’m not an IT professional but I’m also not a moron, however, I struggled with setting this up, especially to be able to print from my phone. The instructions had a QR code that I thought would provide additional guidance but it literally just said to follow the same instructions that were available on the manual. Eventually I found a person who had posted a YouTube video and followed their tutorial.Slow - once you actually succeed in setting up the printer you realize how slow it is. I expected a much faster print time.
