I am very happy with this product. Originally was going to go the easy route with an external model, then realized I wasn't comfortable with a very expensive product so easily accessible by others who may want to steal it. I have a travel trailer and once you have spent a few years using it, especially if you have kids you understand the value of not having to store and retrieve another piece of equipment for your camp trip!Installation was easy and there are several ways of installing based on your trailer configuration and shore power inlet. Technically you can place it anywhere along the line before your trailers fuse box. My shore power is at the rear so I installed in an unused space in a cabinet that was already where the shore power comes into the trailer. I also have a back door in this location which allows me to hook up and easily read if there are any issues with the power supply. Also unless you want to be a fanatic about your numbers, do yourself a favor and install the display in a location that isn't indirect line of sight in your living space. In my view this is a plug in, confirm good power and forget concept. Enjoy your camping and don't worry about the numbers. This unit will protect your rig!!!!This leads me to performance. I installed this unit early this season; around May 2015. We have gone on 5 trips and around 20 nights of camping so far. This unit worked great and as it claims. First couple of trips I plugged in and had no errors and solid power, we had great camping. The last few trips as we led into the hot summer and more AC usage among most TT's, 5th's and MH's. I have had several instances where the unit shutdown the power supply due to low voltage. This is a huge deal as extensive damage can occur to your AC unit, refrigerator, microwave etc.. with low voltage. Additionally this past weekend I plugged in to several power poles and the unit errors indicated "Open Ground." Be sure to check your AC unit and unfit is equipped with delay protection. If not remove the pins from this unit and it will have around 240 seconds of delay time before providing power again. Important for your AC's compressor. It's all in the installation instructions.Get this unit, protect your investment and enjoy your family, your RV and the great outdoors!One last word of advice. Get yourself a power line monitor that you can quickly use to plug into the power pole and determine if there are any open ground, polarity, voltage or any other issues. The open ground issues I mentioned I could only discover after picking the perfect spot for our family, backing into an extremely difficult spot, getting it just right between those trees to fit our slide only to discover the power was not there. I am looking to purchase one for about $30 here on Amazon. That way I can jump out of the truck and quickly check the power before anything else. That is huge time saver, stress reliever and that was a bit of free marital counseling advice for those who know what I am talking about.

Great and easy to install product. I would not ever hook up to a campground pedestal without this protection in line. I purchased a new second camper and this is the first upgrade I installed. Now I have this unit on both of my RV's and they work flawless. This is a USA manufacturer in NC and it is the best system on the market today. Install was simple if you can strip a few wires and operate a screwdriver. I have had my unit shut down power to the coach because of a surge of low voltage once on a busy Memorial Weekend in a campground. We were out on the lake and when we came back to the camper I saw the fault code flashing indicating we had a low voltage condition at the pedestal while we were out. Everyone was probably running their AC so the voltage dipped and the EMS system tripped. Even though power was restored and the voltage was back to normal it let me know this condition had occurred, which I like. Hate to think of the damages that can have in addition to others due to poor electricity quality. I can rest confident now with this unit installed and never be concerned again if there is a nearby lightning storm. I strongly recommend installation of this system. It comes with the display. The manufacturer packages the display inside the box for shipping so when you open the box you will see it in there and can remove it for mounting. The display head cord is very long so you will have plenty of options for mounting. I like the hardwire version because I will not forget it, it will not get stolen, beat up in my storage box or weather and I can see the display without getting outside plus I can operate the bypass switch all within the RV. It has a sturdy build, stellar lifetime warranty, and the service department is eager to help you should you need technical assistance, even on the road.

I installed this myself inside my new trailer. I’ve done research on a lot of these over the years and finally decided when I bought my new trailer I would actually put one in. I like that it is permanent and installed inside the trailer where I cannot be stolen. I like that it has a cut off switch just in case you have the nerve to bypass any warnings. Sometimes if you have an over voltage or an under voltage and it’s just slightly over you might want to just go ahead and use it. Even though it’s not recommended so it’s nice to have the option. It’s a great peace of mind knowing that my trailer is protected and that I will always know if there is some issue with the wiring that I’m plugging into. I was plugging into a garage at a friends house and the garage was wired and had a reverse polarity. The unit did not kick on and gave me an error. I would definitely buy this unit again if I ever got another trailer.
