Working in construction presents a lot of hazards, but with 3M's SecureFit Non-Vented Full Brim Style Safety Helmet I feel more secure about avoiding head injuries. The tough plastic shell of my hard hat is suspended an inch or so from my head, which both protects me and makes it more comfortable due to airflow. It's easy to adjust the suspension to fit, and the design of this suspension puts less pressure on my head than my old hard hat did. The 3M feels light and is easy to wear for a full day without getting in the way.This 3M SecureFit Non-Vented Full Brim Style Safety Helmet is designed and sold for professionals with proper training in its use; as with most personal protective equipment, there are hazards from which hard hats can't protect you, and situations in which wearing a hard had is inappropriate and could potentially be hazardous in its own right. But if you're a current trained hard had user, or willing to obtain training to use it properly and safely, this 3M Safety Helmet is an excellent choice.

This is the full brim version of my other hard hat which I really like also. I wanted a full brim hat to avoid the little falling surprise drips and sprinkles falling on my neck or down the back of my shirt on job sites. This one does the trick. If you like the basic or full brim hat doesn't matter, key is to get this SecureFit ratcheting suspension to hold and keep the hat on. The basic internal suspension will rest the hat on your head but if you look down it will tumble right off. After a frustrating day on a job loosing my hat frequently I ran to local hardware store and bought the ratcheting suspension. Problem solved, hard hat staying on my head and the tension is easily adjusted by turning the knob. This is a great hard hat made even better with the proper suspension to keep it on protecting your noggin!

For some reason mine came without the instruction sheet showing how to attach the webbing to the hat. A quick search yielded me an electronic copy of the instructions :).Once I figure that out, this is a great hard hat. Comfortable and well fitted. I've since ordered a pair of the optional attached earmuffs, which are a great way to go. 3M is a leader in this market by providing quality, value and versatility.
