For jewelry, I prefer gold things, but usually avoid plated because it tends to wear off over time (and sometimes not that much time, e.g., on a necklace that is constantly rubbing your skin). I got these instead for knitting stitch markers. I like using jump rings for that because they're simple, but maybe also a bit 'special' if you get something like this that's nice metal. (Yes, the gold will still rub off ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ )The gold here has an orangish cast to it, which leads me to question its authenticity; it is leaning a bit towards a classic rose gold color (not pink gold that's common these days -- classic rose gold), which might indicate copper in the mix (or maybe something else?). Doesn't matter for my needs and I favor rose gold over yellow gold anyway.I am running low on my jewelry-jumpring stitch markers, and had been looking on Etsy to buy some in bulk. Something about the pandemic has raised the price of jumprings, it appears. Maybe people stayed home and made jewelry or something, and there's a shortage. These looked like a good deal, and indeed they are.I did not pay careful attention to the size of the smallest rings here, though, which are too small for my immediate need. I might actually end up using those to keep on hand to repair jewelry. But the largest two or three sizes will slip over knitting needles fine (depending on the project, of course, and even if I only use the two largest sizes, these are a good deal.Comes with five small ziploc-type bags each with the given size inside a nice plastic snap-top box that seems like it will stay shut in my knitting notions bag, so that's nice too.
