It’s not so difficult that you would be frustrated. The end result is beautiful.

The results look nice, but like other MU models with flowers the pinning method is unnecessarily difficult. The instructions are a mystery novel sometimes. I had to use a Chinese to English translator sometimes.There are four (I think) intended end result uses. One would make this like a refrigerator magnet just for decoration. They show it used in this form on a wood box top, so my guess is it was glued or magnetized down (don’t know as you can’t tell).The second option appears to be like the first, but with a deeper standoff. The box for the stand-off essentially collapsed with the magnets in it and pulling it off the base too many times. It was just too weak.The third option was to magnetize it to a clip underneath. Not sure what you would clip it too in all practicality. The magnets stick, but still slip when the clip is applied vertically. A clip is a clip; they never hold perfectly. It is best to use the clip on a horizontal surface.The third option was to hang it. First, the chords that came with it frayed apart when trying to knot them. They looked nice though. They are also too short to be any use. The decorative part of the butterfly is on top where the chord attaches. If you hang this high so you don’t run into it, you can’t see the decorative part. Hung too low, you will run into it and snag it. There has to be a specific environment to make hanging it work. I don’t know what that would be.

Looks exactly like the picture! It was super straight forward and easy to assemble. The only recommendation I would make is that it is pretty sharp metal (so would definitely not recommend for kids) and there are metal shards that sometimes fly off. 100% would say to wear some safety googles or glasses while putting the model together.The only part that was tricky, was that some pieces are way too tiny - there are a couple flowers where you are supposed to fold metal tabs over, but the tabs are too small even for smaller model tweezers. I ended up clipping off the tabs and gluing them to the model. If it was sized up just a little bit, it probably wouldn't be an issue - but some parts I opted to glue instead of fold just because it's too small.

So far I’ve enjoyed every item I’ve ordered from MU. Quality has been great from models to model stands to the tool set. These butterflies are definitely fun and great if you want a smaller/quicker project. They come with magnets, so I’ve been adding mine to my file cabinet at work once I’ve completed them! They also come with a little scented felt disc that you can insert into a little box underneath, but the scent is pretty faint for me. Smells good though! But I have to put my nose right up on it practically in order to smell it lol. I definitely recommend anything from MU, every purchase has been worth the money so far!

This is a beautiful piece. It came together so easily, if you have done one before. The instructions are a little difficult to read, if this is your first one, if they did them in color it would make assembling the butterfly a lot easier. My only problem as you can see in my picture, it’s upside down! I don’t know how to get a hold of the company, so maybe they will see this and send me a new one that isn’t upside down. I’ve grown to love this hobby, and hope they make more styles like this soon.

Fun project and comes with pretty much everything except for the snips to get off the sheets and tweezers. Would recommend investment in a good pair of tweezers, as is very detailed. Very pretty and comes with several display options.

I wanted to like doing these type projects. Got most of it together without breaking tabs and it looks good. The instructions are all in Chinese and the pictures were not the clearest. Overall the product is tiny and sort of flimsy. Glad I tried a beginner set to see if it was for me.
