First impressions -excellent - good value for money
use without the supplied foam cover the sound is a tiny bit bright and 'tizzy'; pop the foam on & it settles down nicely. Isolation either side of zero degrees is excellent (45,180 & 270 degrees only a faint sound is heard from the surroundings). it is early days (I've had the microphone for a month) but it appears a very solidly built piece of kit, and the recorded sound vs the cost of buying is very impressive.

buzzing noise, otherwise good mic
I have a Sony fx30 that I run this mic on. My first one I had for about a year before it went bad and just for the price I grabbed another one and have not had it quite a year yet. Overall this mic sounds great, I film mostly YouTube videos and it's awesome, but the BIG PROBLEM with this mic for me is that if you try to run a wireless mic simutaniously (I run mine through the top handle of the Sony fx-30, wireless mic and Boya mic where you can get 4 channel audio) then you get a horrible feedback buzzing sound. I have tried other Mics with no issues but every brand of wireless mic I tried running at the same time as the boya gave me the same awful buzzing sound. if you aren't planning on using wireless mics with it then its a pretty decent affordable option, but if you plan on using wireless mics do not buy this!

Works When On A Tight Budget
Item purchased to use as an alternative to hand-held or camera microphones for our church Sunday School and as a wide-angle pickup for speakers and the choir. So far, it has worked well. In fact, it's worked so well that plans are afoot to add a second one.
