Marcella and Maddox
"This was the end for us, for a love that was never meant to be, a love without a chance at a happy ending."This is what I call starting the new generation off with a bang! Marcella is the highlight of this book for me, her unhinged strength and courage towards her family was amazing to witness, and her character development was perfectly done. It's blatantly clear to the reader that Marcella is Luca's daughter. She's a strong heroine who knows how to fight her battles or die trying."I can't because I love your daughter."Maddox was a surprise for me. I didn't expect to fall for him, but like Marcella, I caved eventually. Admitting you are in love with your enemy's daughter takes guts, and man Maddox didn't shy away from showing his feelings for Marcella once he realized them. I won't say too much about him, as I feel it's better to know little about him going into this book."Vitiellos don't kneel."The glimpses of the Vitiello's were perfect. Some readers might not like that there isn't enough family time in this book, but remember, this book is about Marcella and Maddox. Not the Vitiello's. But don't worry, I have a feeling we are going to get a lot more family time in part 2. That being said, I think the decision to split this book into two parts was a good idea since this first book was used to build the relationships and characters. There's still so much that needs to be figured out, and packing all of that into one book would have been too much."If love turns you into an idiot, I'd rather not fall in love."Finally, I can't end this review without talking about Amo. All I have to say is: I can't wait for him and Greta's book after seeing him in BSIR part 1, and for him to eat his own words ;) For those thinking this is a repeat of Twisted Pride, don't worry; this book is nothing like TP. December can't come fast enough. I seriously need part 2 already!

Action packed enemies to lovers romance
“Make him bleed for what he did to me.”I really am addicted to this series! 🤪It's a bit difficult to write a review about By Sin I Rise: part I that won't give too much away. But Maddox White's character was the biggest surprise to me! Here I was expecting Remo number two (who I love), but Maddox is definitely a unique anti-hero of his own, one we haven't met before in this mafia world. Couldn't help but to be swoon by him. Marcella, on the other hand, is a perfect combination of Luca and Aria, and she poises strength, resilience and maturity that made me admire her. Some scenes were hard for me to read because my heart ached for every Vitiello family member, (basically loved them ever since BBH🤧) but I knew they would eventually pull through. Only thing I'm frustrated about is that the book ended in a cliffhanger. But honestly, Maddox and Marcella's story needs continuation. 🖤(Btw, this book just made more anticipated for By Fate I Conquer. The way Amo is, my heart will melt when he shows his affectionate side to Greta).

Like it, wanted to love it but will wait for part 2
I was waiting impatiently for this book like any Cora Riley book. It was super cool to be introduced the second generation and generally I liked the storyline.Loved the fact that the characters were strong and had their own pronounced personalities. What I would have liked in this book that I think Cora missed out was as follows :1. For an enemies to lovers romance there wasn’t enough angst or fodder for emotions. I needed a stronger reason for Maddox to fall in love with Marcella after the childhood trauma that he suffered.Marcella also fall in love just way too quickly for my liking.Compared to Remo and Serafina’s story which had similar plot, I felt that Cora had rushed this story or maybe Twisted Pride was one book and dividing this one into 2 parts is leading me to think this way.2. Cora thrives on showing familial bonds. And keeping in context her previous works, I would have liked to see Marcella’s interaction with her aunts and cousins who have had major characters in the past. Don’t get me wrong, I get that the story needs to heavily lean around Marcella and Maddox but a brief highlight of one big family would have been nice like we saw in Matteo and Gianna’s novella in the anthology. Many of us readers flocked back to read these books because the love and affinity we have for Gen 1 characters.Really looking forward to part 2 for me to provide a proper review but really hoping that Cora doesn’t rush that book and give this story and its characters a proper conclusion.

By Sin I Rise part 1...meeting Maddox
By Sin I Rise part 1 ReviewFirst off, I love Cora Reilly and so far the second generation is off to such a great start. This book is centered on Marcella and Maddox and OMG the parallels to Remo’s book.Overall, this book was not very dark but it had a lot of angst and reflection. I am thinking part two will be a lot darker with more violence since we will see Marcella step into a role in the Familigia. I also think part 2 will have more with Amy and possible tie overs with The Camorra.I felt like part 1 showcased the kidnapping just right. It had both POVs to show each struggle with showing strength but being weak and asking for help. I also think that Maddox grew alot in part 1 so I am hoping we see Marcella grow in part 2.**SPOILERS**I really hope we get a surprise pregnancy here and that Maddox redeems himself to Luca. & OMG Aria being a kicka$$ mafia mother at the end and sticking up for Marcella and Maddox to Luca.I also hope we see Maddox bring his brother back and into the Familigia and maybe his mother too.I really hope Amo and Marcella bridge the Camorra gap in part 2 based off the role Marcella asks for.#corareailly #camorrachronicles #bysinirise #sinsofthefathers #SOTF #darkromance #mafia #mafiaromance #bullyromance #boundby #marcellavitiello #lucavitiello #ariavitiello #MCromance #kindnappingromance #books #bookish #collegeromance #contemporaryromance #bookstagram #smut #youngadult #romance #romancebooks #romancebook

OMG.....
I couldn't wait to read this book, after weeks of impatience I waited patiently for 20mins leading up to midnight, for it to install on my KU account ..... only for my tablet to die after reading the first 3 pages .....I then had to wait until after the school run yesterday (15/9/21), to get back on it, so I started back at the beginning, I truly wasn't disappointed, this book was completely worth the wait endured before it's release ..... and again I read it within 24hrs.In true Cora Reilly style, the main characters were amazing, suspense, emotion, everything and more guaranteed. This book leaves an open ending, but that was expected, their story isn't over yet!!!I'm very keen to see how things are going to work out, for both Maddox and Marcella in the future, but I wait in anticipation for part two.Thank you so much Cora, I'm seriously happy that your books have played a huge part in me regaining my love of reading, reading a book a day, even on my busiest of days, is always an achievement for me, reading has always given me an escape, one I enjoy more than I ever thought, I'm so glad I took it back up.Trust me when I say that, when you pick up By Sin I Rise ..... you seriously won't want to put it down .....

Fasten your seat belts for the ride
Wow Cora Reilly is back with a bang. We still haven’t had enough of the original characters and Cora has started to write about the next generation. The Sins of the fathers series kicks off with Marcella (Luca and Aria daughter) and Maddox.Absolutely loved both main characters and loved the story. Be warned it ends on a cliffhanger with the second book releasing in December. Loved the little cameo roles by all the other much loved characters and would recommend this book to all mafia lovers .
