Helly Hansen Men's HH Warm Ice Base Layer Long Sleeve Crew

I use this base layer with a wind jacket for winter runs when the weather hovers at 0 degrees Celsius. Works great, and keeps me warm. Wool is naturally antibacterial so you don't have to worry about sweat smells after exercising. During cold spells, I sometimes wear the base layer 2 or 3 days in a row (though I don't use it for exercising) without worry. During these cold spells, the base layer, a fleece jacket, and a gore-tex jacket keep me sufficiently warm for everyday use.The Helly Hansen base layer is very comfortable, and it fits snugly (which is what you want in a base layer). The flat lock seams prevent itching and chafing. There may be other base layers that are comfortable and warm, but for the price I think you cannot go wrong. I have 3 shirts, and really that is all I need for deep winter.

I love this shirt. It kept me perfectly warm just sitting around a campground when the temps were in the 30's. I had a vest on top but was plenty warm. It does fit a little bit tight. I'm 6'1 185 and a large was a bit snug, especially in the sleeves, but I'd rather have that for a base layer than something that is loose fitting.

It is a base layer and fits a little snug, but the quality is excellent. I wear it under a gore biking windstop and I’m comfortable biking at temps down to the upper 40’s.

This top will keep you nice and warm.

I have been wearing Helly Hansen base layers for over twenty years (bought from LL Bean). They are perfect products.My ONLY word of caution about the Ice Crew is that it may well be TOO WARM. It is advertised for extremely cold weather use, and I agree. Wearing this under a leather jacket on a motorcycle at speed on a thirty degree day keeps me not simply warm, but hot.So, it is good if you need warmth on really cold days, but is probably too much on simply chilly days.

First time buying a bilayer base layer so can't compare to other products. However, i can feel such a difference. I decided to spend the extra $ based on this products good reviews ans glad i did.

I love these shirts. I bought one two years ago and wore it about two times a week - biking to work, hiking around san francisco - anything active. the range of temperatures and activities this shirt works in is absoluting unreal. both another a year ago so I could up my helly/week to 4. buying two more so I can wear them every day. not kidding - in san francisco this type of performance and comfort is worth paying for.

This fits tight and can be worn like a long sleeve T shirt. The thermal properties are not quite what I expected from such a well know brand that is worn by thousands of fisherman and dock workers here in the North East fishing industry. Of course some people get cold very easy and some do not, I do. It is well made, I was expecting more thermal wise.

Good quality base layer - wearing it under HH fleece and convertible jacket. Does the job well - keeps me warm and the sweat is driven away as well from the skin.

An excellent top. warm when it needs to be but not to warm.

I have bought this HH baby for use as a base layer under my ski jacket. It's all I usually need in Europe when skiing. Dries so quick and yet keeps me nice and warm, great fit, looks great and makes me feel comfortable. It's not too flash for a 57 year old, like some of the competition out there. I see HH Lifa Warm Ice Crew tops as practical clothing, allowing my body to sweat, ventilate and yet stay warm whilst skiing or during a quick food stop. I have used HH tops for years and I cannot see that habit changing. Love the designs, keeps me young at heart. In my eyes HH sports wear is just about future proofed.

A fantastic buy. The best money I've spent on clothing for a long time. I work on a dairy farm & am outside in all weather's. And am known for being a bit of a cold arse. But not any more, I've never been so toasty through a winter. Brilliant. Good fit. Comfortable. Quick delivery. Money very well spent.
