Lives up to the Name! Great Product!!
Lives up to its name of The Coldest Ice Pack! Best all around gel pak I’ve ever used. This thing is amazing. It’s gets unbelievably cold and holds it’s temp for a solid 45 minutes or longer. The cover it comes with is great because there’s no need to use a towel between you and the gel pak. The cover is sufficient for me. The pak itself is covered in a sturdy nylon type material and yet it’s very pliable. Confirms to your body nicely. The straps are a nice addition too although one is much shorter than the other and I’m not sure why. Still, having any straps at all is a plus. You can always grab an ace bandage if the effectiveness of the straps is really an issue for you. It doesn’t sweat and it’s very malleable; gets cold fast in the freezer too. Other reviewers mentioned that the pictures are deceiving as far as size goes and they are. However, if you look at the actual measurements in the description instead of relying on the pictures, you should know exactly what size it is you’re getting. I saw one review that gave this product two stars because it got too cold?? It does get very very cold but that’s the point and part of why it’s so great. I’ve ordered 3 more in smaller sizes for my ankle, shoulder and wrist. It’s really just the best of all worlds when it comes to the gel paks from what I’ve seen. The only con is that I wish it came in an extra large size like 12 X 18 or 13 X 21. I’ve got a knee that recently went out on me with what’s most likely a torn miniscus; I’ve got a shoulder that gives me fits, tennis elbow, a wrist that hurts from a fall I took and every nit and then some sciatica rears it’s head. This product has worked wonders on my knee and I’ll be using it on those other problem areas too. Buy it! You won’t regret it!

This ice pack has 2 wide elastic straps that are the same length and well designed
This ice pack is really an excellent pack. The ice pack plastic is thick but remains pliable when frozen and the edge seams are robust. It's easy to move the gel inside around to distribute it evenly in the ice pack (note this is easiest to do when the pack is warm). The case with the straps that holds the ice pack in place is well made, generous in size so the ice pack fits inside easily and both straps are 2-1/4" wide elastic with a generous amount of Velcro for securing the pack to your body. I'm extremely pleased with the amount of time it stays cold and the ability for the pack to be secured to your body, which then allows me to move around and do other things while I'm icing my hip.

Form, Fit, Function are all on point.
I've tried many ice packs and have pretty high standards. There's a lot of junk out there, and there's a lot that would be great but just miss the mark on some small technicality like specific heat, wear-ability, fit, or durability. The Coldest Ice Pack seem to have everything covered. It stays real cold for a decent length of time, and it transfers the heat out of your tissues effectively as long as it's firmly pressed onto you afflicted area. The internal cold pack is stiff enough to not slump in the bag, but still compliant enough to wrap and mold into the areas and curves of your body. The outer bag straps and closure appear durable enough, but I have only owned it for a week. It's easy enough to wrap around my torso to chill my broken rib, the Velcro hook and loop sections are in the right places to prevent failure of the strap stitching.Nothing's perfect, so overall I would give it a 9, except it doesn't go to the fridge and refresh my beverage.Have I missed anything?

Made a big difference in hip recovery.
I bought this for hip repair recovery. I love how cold it gets and I love the cover. This brand was recommended to us by a cousin who is a nurse. I would alternate this with the cryo-pack that the hospital provided me. I didn’t like how the straps were attached so I cut them off added more Velcro and they are now removable. The size is perfect for back pain, hip recovery, and I’ve also used it to wrap around my wrist after a recent surgery.

Favorite ice pack ever!!
This is a great product! Love it. However, obviously it doesn’t stay super cold forever. I may order another one, so I always have a spare if I want to still wear it (I love the little vest like thing that lets you wear it like a light weight backpack!! It’s great just to cool down quickly in the summer AND for injuries sprains, etc!

Meh
It’s ok. Not bad, not great. The wrap that holds the ice pack could be much better. I have a size 32 waist and the wrap is a bit big for me. It will hold the ice pack in place for gentle activity and does work well to keep in place when seated or lying down. I find it works well when driving.Ice packs like this are more effective when held firmly in place so that the pack has contact across the entire surface. This one doesn’t quite do that unless it’s also supported by a chair back or bed. It would probably work better on a larger waist but it still wouldn’t offer any support like a regular back brace. To be fair, it doesn’t claim to offer compression or support so that’s on me for having unreasonable expectations. The ice pack itself is also ok. The gel gets sufficiently cold and holds its temperature alright but there’s not enough of it in the pack for me to consider it really good. It performs much better folded in half to double the thickness but then of course you only have half the surface area. It appears well made and I don’t foresee any durability issues.Overall I’m comparing it to the larger, thicker packs used in professional settings like physical therapy offices. Those packs are about double the price so again, unrealistic expectations on my part. It’s not bad enough for me to return it. I will continue to use it but I wouldn’t have bought it if I had hands on first. It is decent value for the price but there are better alternatives out there.
