This is the ABSOUTE BEST Knife sharpener I have ever had! I have tried so many and some work ok some not at all! This work work very very very very well! For instance I sharpened a kitchen knife I grabbed an old kitchen towel to wipe off the knife after sharpening it and it slide through my towel like butter! I'm just glad I paid attention to how I held it or as sharp as it was I probably would have had to at the very least get stitches! Seriously I usually don't do reviews I think I'v given may 3 reviews on 3 produts any where! This sharpener deserves a review! Do not hesitate you will ve glad you bought it!!

The 10" chef's knife is about what I expected, though not quite as heavy duty as my 40 year old Dexter fish filet knife. I opted for carbon steel for ease of sharpening. The Dexter sharpener is on the crude side - you won't get a smooth hollow grind out of this one. OTOH, it's putting a good cutting edge on my set of daily knives that I appreciate - I just won't use it on my best knives.

bad product, only works the first time. then it no longer sharpens.

I have used all kinds of sharpeners that are decent, but this one works so well and so easy that I have to put it at the top of my list.

I asked a friend (who owns a successful restaurant) where I should get my knives sharpened. He didn't answer my question. When I went to his restaurant a few days later, he handed this to me. My life and my knives are better for it. I bought a second one for a friend. And I'm sure I'll buy it for many friends down the line.
