We only had to read the last story of this collection of short stories but I loved it. It definitely presents you with a saint like image who doesn't even believe in his own cause. Religion without goodness or goodness without religion? Which do you believe the author emphasized?

I love de Unamuno's philosophical writings, but I love his fiction even more. It's so refreshingly different from other fiction.

Great short stories compacted into a book. Classic stories that are on a need base to be read.

I love to read, this is the first book I ever through out. I wouldn't even giveIt away. 10 pages did me in...awful....dark and depressing.
