The throttle itself works pretty well, it does kick in less soon than some I’ve used in the past requiring turning around 20% of the way before actuating but it does so smoothly at low power and gains power smoothly as you turn the throttle further. Max throttle is achieved when pulling the throttle all the way which is as it should be.I’ve had some e-bike throttles in the past that haven’t allowed 100% throttle even when pulling it all the way where as this does.The grips are pretty difficult to put on as they were a little too small for my handle bars. Utilising my heat gun allowed them to stretch and fit on the bars easier and they were fully tight when cooled down and don’t slip, even in the rain.That leads me onto my next point; water resistance… This is something of great importance as a throttle that isn’t water tight can short out or malfunction resulting in either not working or actuating full throttle without any rider input. This has so far seemed reliable even in really heavy rain, it is claimed to be waterproof which so far seems true. As it is a big deal, you can be assured that I will update this if any problems arise.Now; people should be made aware that the use of a throttle on electric bikes in the UK is illegal unless off road or on a bike which was made prior to the legislation change in 2016. My e-bike does fit the grandfathered rules so can be used upto the road legal assist speed of 15.5mph.All in all the throttle is a decent purchase, the only improvement I could recommend is the sensitivity of the throttle. It should activate much closer to zero throttle and it slightly ruins the overall feel of the e-bike as it’s difficult to be sure exactly when the power will kick in.
