The Mick Ronson Story

A must for Mick Ronson fans
I've been a fan of Mick Ronson for 50 years, only got chance to see him live once, this was in 73' with David Bowie and the Spiders from Mars on the Aladdin sane tour. This book is a very comprehensive look at Mick's life, from his early life in Hull, and the band's he was in before he joined Bowie. There are lots of quotes from the people who knew him, and you get the impression of what a nice guy he was.Anyone who went to the "Turn and face the Strange" shows at the Freedom Centre, and the Hull Truck Theatre in his home town of Hull, will really enjoy this book, but it's also a good read for the casual fan, with plenty of great stories from his fellow band mates.

Brilliant revelation of the man behind the star
This is a richly detailed, meticulously researched and highly readable biography of one of the great rock guitarists. New and revealing interviews tell the story of the ordinary guy who used his rare musical gift to transform himself into a star, but who didn't turn his back on his roots in Hull.

Lovely tribute
Beautifully written and thoroughly researched. A suitable tribute to a man who had a big part in the careers of several key rock musicians.
