Red Clover or "Trifolium Pratense" is indigenous to Europe, Western Asia & Africa which means that in order to acquire any means growing the herb locally or having it imported. The Herbaceous short lived perennial plant has uses for producing estrogen besides use as simple animal fodder (food). Red Clover can grow as tall as 80 centimeters. Red Clover has properties of isoflavones which can produce estrogen or at least have the biological similarities of estrogen which is why it historically has been used to help with menopause.It can be administered as a tea although I enjoy it as a tobacco substitute. It tastes similar to hemp probably due to the flowers (buds). I have not found any claims that red clover has any psychotropic effects but as a dilution for tobacco or hemp I enjoy it better than Mugwort, Damiana or mullian.The package that I received was magnificent and contained mostly flowers which I prefer over the stalk. Any complaints of stones or other unwanted substances should be disregarded since it is inevitable that foreign matter find it's way into a pound of any herb. I suggest that you find out for yourself sine the price of 25 dollars is a pittance compared to growing or importing Red Clover. I hope I helped.

I’m not certain how Red Clover is supposed to smell since it’s my first time using so I cannot comment on that. The smell isn’t beautiful but I’m considering it’s a dried herb. The amount of herb and quality is pleasing. There are enough blossoms as well as there are the other parts of the plant. Most of the blossoms manage to retain its purple colour. Some complain that this is product gives bits and pieces of the herb but naturally if the herb has been dried it’s expected to fall apart. I think this is worth the money. It will last a long while.

I make nourishing herbal infusions a la Susan Weed and have come to like this herb in my rotation. It’s pretty intense and a bit astringent, but I like it. Frontier has a great reputation and I’ve been happy with other bulk herbs and spices I’ve bought from them.
