Fabulous start to this new trilogy set in the dangerous, dark world of IVI. After wetting my appetite for Lawson 'Judge' Montgomery and the feisty Mercedes de la Rosa in the prequel novella in the Nightingale anthology as well as The Society Trilogy, I was absolutely ready for the fireworks I knew would be their story! Holy moly, there were fireworks galore!Judge is as hot, dominant and alluring as he is an utter a-hole. Wow this man throws off some mixed signals as he battles with denial of his feelings and desires whilst performing his task, assigned by Mercedes' own brother..... her punishment and reformation.I loved The Society trilogy, but didn't like Mercedes very much in it. She made some terrible mistakes, believing she was doing the right thing but behaving like a spoilt, rich b1tch. However, the more I see her, the more I empathise with her. She puts on a brave, bratty defensive face but its no wonder she's so messed up surrounded by so much betrayal and brutality. As part of the misogynistic, harsh IVI Society, the rules heavily favour the men and women are pawns with no real choices in how to live their lives.She just wants some genuine affection, but with Judge high in the Society ranks, can he stick to the rules he enforces with a steel will in the courtroom, or will Mercedes tempt his darkness out to play? Or will his enemies get to them first?That cliffhanger.... thanks goodness it's not long to wait, Her Rebellion is going to be fiery!!4.25 stars

What a fantastic start in this new trilogi from The Society universe.From page one we jump right back in where we left of from the last trilogi.Ever since the first Word Mercedes spoke in Santiago and Ivy's books, I have wanted to know who she is, what triggered her, made her into this angry, ugly,vulnereble, unpleasent insecure little girl she is. Where it came from other then that big tragic event. Because like her brother, there had to be more. And yes. Ofcourse Judge is the only man strong enough to face her, compare to her, and overpower her. Even as he himself is batteling with his own ghosts.This univers of the Society is so dirty and ugly and so well created. It really shows of the ugly side of human nature. But also gives us the most powerfull strong relationships. So much cemestry and wonderfull buildup. This book is zizzling with lust and want and desire. Its buzzing out for every page you turn. Its like waiting fro the bomb to blow off.There is no way it is possible to wait for the next book. How can I ever get through this time until i get back to Mercedes. I need more.

A welcome return to the sinister and oppressive world of IVI, this time for Mercedes' story. And, as anticipated, what an intense story this is! And it's just the first of the series!In a world of money, power, socially isolated through choice and, most of all, indifferent to the rules of female equality. In this world Mercedes has forged a reputation for steely determination, a hard heart and head and total loyalty to her family. With her perilous situation, Santiago has made a decision and called on Judge to support him. I have really looked forward to his story and, in Mercedes, he has met his match. Santiago and Ivy's story just served to whet my appetite for this one.This is a well crafted, detailed book which carries the reader along at a brisk pace, bringing incident and revelations galore. Seeing into the private heart and life of Mercedes is a journey of discovery...an unexpected one. I cheered for her, wanted to hug her and reassure her and keep everything crossed that she would retain her core of courage and drive! An incredible start to the series by these two talented authors whose collaboration is bringing us such rich rewards! Fabulous! 💖💖💖💖💖

If Dark is your thing, you’ll enjoy this…So we are back with more from The Society, back to the archaic rule that is instilled within its “family” The men have all the power, rule with an iron fist, the women have no say, they all have a place, a pecking order and if you deviate, you pay the price, the IVI way!Mercedes’ and Judges’ story is one we’ve been waiting for, the breadcrumbs have been laid, and now we get to know.Mercedes’ wasn’t one I thought I’d take to after what she put Ivy through, that was until I got her back story. We were given less about Judge and he too has history that’s moulded him in to what he is today!Both very strong characters who you know are going to cause an explosion of emotions when it all kicks off, but both wearing a mask, neither prepared to let them slip.Judge is trying to protect Mercedes’ from, no only her past, but also from his!However his past seems to be no long that, as it’s just arrived on his door step and is about to unleash terror!

As i read the last word of this story, my heart was racing so fast, i had a feeling of utter dread and in typical Knight-Zaverilli style the EPICcliffhanger had me holding my breath!I wasn’t instantly hooked but OMG the further you read the deeper your dragged in, the more intriguing the quicker you need to read.Intense and nerve-wracking! I was angry, i was riled but then i felt sympathy. Such a rush of mixed emotions and strong reactions!Judge was dominating and even spine chilling at times but i also couldn’t help feel deep down there’s a sense of care and love.A Dark and addictive start to this epic trilogy that’s an absolute must read and will leave you in the highest of anticipation!
