My Killer Vacation

It had me laughing and blushing—4.5 star summer read!
Taylor, a schoolteacher in her mid-twenties, doesn’t expect anything too out of the ordinary on a vacation with her brother, Jude, in Cape Cod. They’ll be in relax mode, go to the beach, explore the sleepy town and have fun along the way. But before all that fun can even begin, there’s a hitch in the plan—that being the dead body found in their holiday rental house. Suddenly, there are police and news crews and a bounty hunter called Myles, eight years her senior, crashing into Taylor’s life, and where Myles is concerned, heart, too. From the moment they meet, there’s a distinct spark between Taylor and Myles. They both brush it off as a sort-of “in the moment” thing, but as the investigation into the murder continues, Taylor wanting to go along for the ride and solve the mystery—climbing out of the safe zone she’s been in all her life—it’s clear that their connection is too hot to contain. In fact, it’s getting in the way, as far as no-relationship, no-strings Myles is concerned. He knows the kind of girl Taylor is, and what she deserves, and convinces himself that he can’t give that picture-perfectness to her. But Taylor sees something in him and the way he has continued to protect her—through threats on her life and close-calls—enough to realise that this could be something. That’s if they’ll get out of their own ways.Overall, My Killer Vacation was literal fire. The mystery aspect, I felt, sort of took a backseat to the romance, which I was okay with. I loved the relationship between Taylor and her brother, Jude—her love for him was truly unmatched and I was besotted at the bond between them. Reading Taylor and Myles’s separate POVs were definitely identifiable and I loved that we got to see the flip side of the scenarios instead of being stuck behind just one. It had a lot more spice than I predicted/thought there would be, which made reading it around other people an experience at keeping a poker face. But as my opener to Tessa Bailey’s storyworlds, My Killer Vacation was *chef’s kiss*—it had me laughing and blushing at the down-to-earth, sultry story of Taylor and Myles that is one hundred per-cent a killer summer read. 4.5 stars!

SLOW READ
I had My killer Vacation by Tessa Bailey on my bookshelf for ages. I’ve been so excited to read this, I’ve seen this book advertised everywhere on other people's instagrams and tiktoks. I finally had a gap to read this and to be quite honest I was really disappointed. I love Tessa Bailey books, It Happened One Summer I absolutely adored. I just found this read a bit boring, and slow and that being a short book already, I found myself not getting through it. Like I would put it down and just did not have the motivation to pick it up. That being said I did manage to finsh it.I really love Murder mysteries, I love working them out, I think my issue with this read was there wasn't much to the plot tbh, and most of the time the main characters seemed to be having sex at the most like awkward moments. I was sitting there thinking really there is a killer murderer on the loose and you decide to have sex. That being said, I will read more Tessa Bailey books because of her Bellinger sisters series. This one just wasn't my cup of tea, but if you love spicy murderer mysteries then give this one a try.

My Killer Vacation
My Killer Vacation was on pre-order for us and I started it as soon as it came through the door. We’ve book become fans of Tessa Bailey between her Hot and Hammered and It Happened One Summer series so I knew there was a strong probability that I’d enjoyed this one.The story follows both main characters Taylor and Myles. Taylor and her brother are visiting Cape Cod for a well needed vacation however after discovering some creepy things in the house they find the ultimate creepy thing - a dead body. Enter Myles, ex detective turned bounty hunter who is dedicated to bringing the killer to justice. What ensues is a grumpy Myles trying to keep an intrigued, amateur detective Taylor out of trouble, his investigation and his bed. They have an immediate connection and the chemistry between them sizzles off the page. I loved that this was a murder mystery alongside the romance element and one served to add angst to the other. This gave me such nostalgia for a book I read when I was younger. It’s only vaguely similar and no where near as spicy but it made me pick that old book back up again and that’s Pick Your Poison by Leann Sweeney. It’s an oldie but a goodie and my paperback version is so worn from re-reading over the years!

I love Tessa Bailey and this didn’t disappoint! Light hearted despite the title and super easy to read. Characters are great and the spice is just right!

Loved it.
If I could give this book more then 5 stars I would!I love both romances and crime dramas/thrillers so this was a perfect pick for me and it didn't disappoint!I was kept guessing about the guilty party right until the big reveal, it wasn't at all predictable like some books can be.And I loved the love that slowly built between myles and Tayler even though we could see from the start that they were almost struck by protectiveness and affection towards each other. This is the first book I have read by this author but I will definitely be giving more of them a go!

fantastic classic tessa Bailey
Classic Tessa Bailey love & spice storyline that we all know and love. Characters I find really relatable, & even Myles is so loveable even when made out to be stubborn and harsh. Taylor brings out his soft side. Love all the characters, love the story line having a different angle to it with the murder investigation. Best book I’ve read in a while 👏🏼
