Little Inventors In Space!

Bought as a gift for my nephew, What a fantastic book! A wonderful introduction to life off earth and the problems faced and how they are overcome. Clearly written with young readers in mind it’s refreshing that it’s talking to them, not down to them. Wish I had something like this when I was a child.

This wonderful little book is perfect for children to use at home and I feel for teachers as a classroom resource!Inside there are fun ideas to follow, places to write your ideas and others to draw them in. It encourages children to allow their imaginations to run free and that's wonderful.There are so many fun things within the pages for young children to engage with.They can join the stars whose names begin with each letter of their names and this gives them their very own constellation. There is a section that explains what gravity is, black holes and dark matter. It encourages them to reach for the stars, talks about satellites and so much more.There are examples from other young inventors to inspire and advice on how to share their ideas by uploading it to the little inventors web site. There is even a chance to win one of the challenges and have their idea be picked to be made for real. Then on the back page there's advice for adults to encourage youngsters to embrace invention and spark their imaginations.It is a superb concept and a fabulous book.

Idea for your young space fan. Lots of info and pictures

I started reading this book with my seven year old daughter and it captured her attention very quickly, even though there isn't a lot of text (she loves to read).What this book does extremely well, is simulate imaginative thinking: the following morning, my daughter had written three post-it notes containing details of her two ideas to reduce the amount of space debris.This book contains subjects to think about and a place in which to write down and draw your ideas.I wasn't sure if my daughter was going to like this book but she chose to read it herself without me suggesting it and was quite keen to talk about it the next day.

This is a really great little activity book, filled with fun facts about Space! I felt there was a nice balance between facts and activities, which helps to involve children in their learning. The pages were really clearly set out with information, there were great illustrations and photographs. Th activity page were good - there were a real selection of activities to do, keeping those little inventors entertained. I think you could keep returning to this book, as there is such a lot of information and fun to be had within the pages. I ordered this for my nephew, who is a real Space fan and interested in science ideas. I think he will love this, and I was so impressed that I am already searching for the other titles in this series.
