Steel is better than plastic
For a little more $, this reel will survive a lifetime. The similar priced plastic one, arrived with broken rollers.

Works well
I bought two of the cheapie plastic ones both get bound up. This one is open and does not have that problem. Only issue is for that price range. I would think I should get a light at the end of the cord to indicate power other than that it’s great.

Very Useful product
I had a bit of a time me getting this thing mounted, mostly do to the high quality material. It was quite heavy, or maybe just for me. All in all, I am a happy camper.

NOT for Outdoor
Amazon it says indoor outdoor but when you get the reel it clearly says indoor, Dry Locations Only

WOW!
This Cord Reel is HEAVY DUTY! Definitely more than what I really needed for my home garage. That said, keep in mind that this thing is huge - almost 2' across with the cord sticking out. I originally planned to mount this on the right side wall of my two car garage, but once I laid eyes on it I concluded that it would just make the walking space a little too tight to the car. I opted to hang it on the ceiling near the garage door opener and shared the outlet. I made sure it was far enough back, that the hanging cord cleared the open garage door. This central location makes it convenient to use on both sides of the garage.Likes:- 80' length - I haven't measured it, but it reaches to all four corners of my garage and well over a car length down my the driveway - perfect!- The reel is super heavy duty and well built- 12 gauge wire- Wall, Floor, or Ceiling mountableDislikes:- Four mounting holes, but only two lag screws included - So I had to run out and get two more to install it.- It's a safety feature so I really can't call this a negative, but since I installed mine on the ceiling, If the internal breaker trips, I'll have to get a ladder out to reset it.Overall 5 stars, but not a 5 star install:I marked down1 star from the "easy to install" category because of the missing screws and the added trip to the hardware store. I marked down another star, because of its size... so it is naturally going to be somewhat difficult to to install. Included in this calculation, is the close proximity of the bracket to the real makes it somewhat difficult to install the bolts. Please note that if installing it to a stud wall or ceiling... when finding the desired location you should keep in mind that at least two of the bolts needs to be in a stud or rafter, then the two others are fine to use anchors. (If possible, it's better if all four bolts are backed up by wood.)Hints for installation:1. I recommend holding the unit in positions and marked the holes with a short pencil, then pre-drilling all the holes (Please note that there are two holes and two open slots in the mounting bracket... make a note, or remember which is which.)2. Using a power driver, pre-screw in the bolts without the cord reel in the way... Then remove only the bolts that correspond to the holes and leave in the screw(s) that correspond to the slots... but be sure to back-off the slot screws so there is enough space to slide the bracket on.4. Rest the unit on the slot hole bolts and re-install the other bolts and tighten all of them down... then plug it in and it's ready to go.As described and pictured - I recommend08-31-2022 - I added pictures of the finished product hanging from my garage ceiling.

Heavy Duty Extension Cord Reel For The Workshop or Commercial Garage
The media could not be loaded. The SuperHandy Extension Cord Reel is super heavy duty and perfect for inside the workshop. Overall its a great product suitable for "prosumer" or commercial applications. Its made to last with heavy metal construction, attractively orange colored thick enamel coating and great features for doing serious electrical work in the garage. It is meant for installation indoors. The retracting mechanism locks and releases easily and is meant to withstand years of use. The electric cord is terminated with a convenient grounded triple receptacle that unfortunately does not light up. Opposite to the mount is a cable roller that guides the cable and prevent snagging and can be easily adjusted for various mounting scenarios. The cable is secured to the reel with an insulated clamp. The cable is fitted with an adjustable cable stop near the triple receptacles. The reel measures 16" tall, and requires 19" of space when mounted to a wall. The mount plate is 5.5" square with the mounting holes spaced 4" apart. This is an important consideration when mounting in a typical residence with 2"x4" wall studs and limited space. Its BIG! The manufacturer provides two lag bolts and plastic anchors that will work in wood or concrete. Its not for everyone due to its size and weight and mounting is an issue for residential applications. The mounting holes are 4" apart, while my garage wall studs are made of 2"X4" lumber. I can only secure two of the four mounting points to the wood studs. The other issue for installation is physically lifting 36 lbs of cable reel into place while standing on a ladder which may not be an issue for some people but I certainly cannot perform such a feat. My solution is to use a hook lagged into the rafter and a rope to hoist the reel into place. Your installation experience may be easier if you choose to install it on the floor or if you have solid sheathing on the walls or perhaps a horizontal brace across two wall studs that will make mounting easier.Overall this cable reel is one for a lifetime of use. Though missing a safety indicator lamp in the outlets, it is very impressive in construction and operates smoothly. I am delighted to have this cable reel in my garage.

Needs a larger fairlead
This is a strong unit and the finish on it is great, the cord is 12 gauge so its good for a heavy load such as a 15amp compound mitre or table saw. This seems to be some of the same parts from my harbor freight compressor hose reel or the Chinese are making both from a cache of components with different grades of finish but as my air hose reel is nice and heavy duty as well it suffers from the same short coming of having the fairlead narrower than the spool so it , the cord clumps on top of each other when your winding it up when guiding it on..Also I don't know why everyone is complaining about the access to the bolt hole, You are supposed to trace a pattern on cardboard or paper then transfer the dimension the the wall or ceiling. Drill your 4 holes; 2 slotted holes to hang the unit on 2 extended lags protruding out of the hole and tighten 2 more with the unit pulled away from the wall and resting on the bottom 2, Then tighten all evenly with the weight on the bottom 2..I used a gear wrench..Ofcourse hanging on the ceiling being we have gravity here on earth will help with another person..Sooo tough to figure that one out...
