These are beautiful. Heavy, the measurements engraved in the handles, however, when I measured out a familiar recipe I thought, that doesn't look right. I compared to another set of spoons and the teaspoon is about 1/4 tsp. off from my others. Too little, in other words. I measure-compared them all and, well, heaping, they work. Leveling a tsp, and tablespoon, not so much. I'll keep them, but go the 'heaping' method with them.

The "ideal" set of measuring spoons are not difficult to imagine, and these come very close!Stainless steel - these are definitely metal, and they aren't rusty!Engraved, not painted - these are engraved and fairly easy to read.Nesting - these have a very nice, tight next, so they take up minimal drawer spaceFlat across the top - each spoon is a sinlge piece of metal, and they can be leveled easilyOval - With the exception of the 1 tbsp, these all fit into my spice jars like measuring spoons should.Wide range of sizes - They could have done a bit better here - I would have preferred a 1/3 tablespoon instead of a 3/4 teaspoon, but 3/4 teaspoon is so common that I can't complain.Sits level on the table - This set DOES NOT sit level on the table, which is the biggest downside. I can't measure something and then leave my spoon on the countertop, and I have to hold the measuring spoons in one hand when measuring liquids. This is what bumped the set down from 5 stars to 4 for me.

I got these measuring spoons today. I spent about 3 hours looking at many different ones before I bought these, because I wanted ones that were strong, would last, looked good, were priced right and had an oval shape to them.I looked at every one to make sure there wasn't any flaws in them and there aren't any. They felt very sturdy, so I wanted to see if I could bend one, just slightly and that would tell me how sturdy they really were.I used enough force on 2 different spoons to have bent most, if not all of the silverware I have but they were rock solid. These spoons are very strong, good looking and well worth the price. Unless I loose one of these, I don't expect to need another set for many years to come, if ever!

These spoons are great. They look just like the photo. Although the bottom is not flat, they still lay flat because of the way they are balanced from end to end if you need to set them down--so nothing will spill. Wash them well before use. I asked the company what guage the stainless steel is and they said 430--which is the normal one used for kitchen utensils and which is the one we personally prefer for the purity of the metal. We especially like the elongated spoons for fitting into jars, and the table spoon and 1/2 table spoon. No more guessing. Great customer service from Spring Chef if you have any questions. We definitely recommend the product and company.

Most measuring spoons are light and lousy. If they aren't metal, the printing that tells you the size of the spoon wears away and you don't know one from the next. These are a little more expensive, but they're the last measuring spoons you'll ever have to buy. They are hefty and feel good in the hand. The oblong shape makes it easier to get into jars and spice tins. The sizes are stamped into the metal. They are so worth the additional small handful of dollars. Great stocking stuffer for the cooking enthusiast in your life. FYI: I got the oval ones and they're elegant.

This is a nice set of measuring spoons. I always loved the rounded spoons because they are easy to scoop out, but I like the rectangle measuring spoons for fitting in spice jars. These oval-shaped spoons are the best of both. They fit in the spice jars *and* they are easy to scoop (if measuring liquid). The finish on them is beautiful. I’ve washed them by hand and in the dishwasher many times and had no problems with discoloration or anything at all.

I am happy with this purchase but not as much as probably the other reviewers. They are heavy, the shape is nice for spice bottles and I really like the number of spoons and that the measurements are engraved and not printed on them. Why not 5 stars? Well, I feel like the metal is a bit sharp and the metal is a bit dull and discolored maybe? Other stainless I have is shiny and a clear silver, this is more a blackish gray. I'm probably being picky and the price is great for the solidity of the set.

I have an old set of these measuring spoons and I have always thought they were the bes. My old ones had the handle welded to the spoon and one came apart. I gave it to my neighbor so that he could fix it and I never got it back. So when I saw these and noticed that they were not welded, I would buy a set of new ones. The big problem is that the rim of the cups and the handle edge are very sharp and I also compared the weight and found them to be very thin. I do not recommend children using them since there is a risk of them getting cut on the edge.
