Decent but pricey
My hair is thinning, I'm not great at styling hair and its always done whatever it wants most of the time so a great combination! No awards will be won for my picture. Most products will leave my hair looking flat and a mess by the end of the day but surprisingly this holds up well in comparison.I've knocked a star off for 2 reasons, the glass bottle makes this heavy and unsuitable for travelling and it's quite pricey compared to other similar products.Pros:Does what it says, adds volume and textureSmall amount neededThe spray produces a fine even mistCons:Pricey for 100ml (£16 at time of writing)Heavy glass bottle - others may like it if it just sits looking pretty in the bathroom, but as I have to travel fairly regularly for work I don't want to carry more weight than I need to

People will notice the difference - even if they're not quite sure what's changed...
The matte finish and fairly masculine scent of Doncaster-based Apothecary 87's Salt Tonic Sea Salt Spray suggests this product is primarily aimed at men. I gave it to my partner to try. He has used a hair gel in the past but isn't a huge fan or user of hair products. What he liked about Salt Tonic is the ease of use. In an amber glass bottle with a spray top, he's using this as a stand-alone product - simply spraying it on wet or damp hair then leaving to dry. It has a light and pleasant ozonic sea scent. It's also natural and contains no chemicals. My partner's hair is thinning. This Salt Tonic spray added volume - which made his hair look fuller - along with a light hold and the texture his fine hair lacks. As it's fuss-free and so easy to use, he's carrying on using it - not quite every day but it does improve the overall appearance of his hair.At £16 for this 100ml bottle, this is not a cheap product but little is needed. I like the way it makes my partner's hair look. If you'd like your hair to appear a little fuller, this would definitely be worth trying. I think people will notice the difference - even if they can't put their finger on exactly what's changed.

Had an effect on the texture of my hair but not as much as I expected
I got this product as I love the way my hair curls when I'm on holiday & am in the sea (& subsequently with the sea salt). It did help the texture and enhance my curls but it wasn't as effective as I expected. Also the bottle spray head wasn't working so I had to transfer the contents into another empty spray bottle I had which was a little inconvenient. Overall I probably wouldn't get it again but if you're looking for a little enhancement to the texture of your hair, worth a try.

Make it yourself at home and save a fortune
Currently £16.00 exactly…Have you ever noticed how much volume your hair seems to have after being in the sea? It’s the salt. I really can’t see how they can justify the price for this. It’s basically water and sea salt.Pros:Adds volume and textureFine mist sprayCons:Small bottleQuite pricey for the sizeBasic ingredients Water and Sea Salt you can mix yourself at home

Not that impressed unfortunately
I typically use homemade beard oils and beard balms to keep my beard in shape and looking healthy, so I was intrigued by trying a salt tonic. Reading Apothecary 87's description, I thought this would be a really great product for lightly styling my beard. However, having tried it 3 times now, with minimal success, I am really not that impressed. Although I took care in trying to just work it unto my beard, I did find that it left my lips really dry, like I had been on the beach all day. It didn't really aid the shape and style of my beard. There wasn't enough hold. And at £16 for a small 100ml bottle of what appears to be just salt water, I think it is overpriced too.

Surfer style volume
This is a great way to get messy volume, in the surfer/beach style. I've used this to good effect on hair and also a longer beard. Like everything from Apothecary 87 it's top notch. Minor downside is that it needs to be used sparingly, as of course it's a salt spray and any excess application does end up with that showing.

Good Ethical hair texturising product.
This salt tonic boasts no Parabens no sulphites or other nasty ingredients. It does leave ones hair pliable with a Matt finish. My son found that by spraying onto damp hair working it into the roots then blowing with a hairdryer gave his thick hair more omph and texture. As described by seller . Happy to recommend

Salt spray in glass bottle
ProsMatt texture on hair.Easily washed away.Lasts until washed. In a glass bottle, feels more premium.Easy to use, just spray on dry hair directly.ConsUnexpectedly heavy for a small bottle.Dry and tacky effect on hair, guess not my favourite.Do not think it will work on longer hair length (my thoughts only)£16.00 for the bottle, quite expensive
