Works for use-case
This works to retro fit lightening based headphones to the USB-C port.Note: this will not work for car Audio/Carplay. You will need to look at a dongle that supports data transfer.

Adapter cable overheats
This adapter works great for audio, however, mine overheated and became very hot. I felt it through my pocket and it burned my hand when I pulled my phone out of my pocket. I’m returning it because of safety issues and fear that it will damage my new phone. Maybe I just got a defective one. It did work great other than that.

Works for audio
This works for audio only. It will not charge the phone using the lightning cord, so another smaller connection is required to charge the phone. However, this does work for audio. Sound quality is acceptable.

Make Use of Old Headphones!
I have dozens of older headphones that have the Lightning connector and with iPhone upgrades, I was unable to use my new, out of the box headphones. There are many connectors out on the market for Lightning to USB C but the DO NOT work for audio inputs. This one DOES! Several prior reviewers mentioned that in use, the "connection" gets hot. I have used this numerous times, for 3-hour long plane rides, and have not had any issue with it generating too much heat. It's worked well with my iPhone and iPad. I would highly recommend if you're looking for a cheap way to extend the life of your older headphones.

Amazing use everyday
I love this little gizmo. I use it multiple times a day. Apple is always changing ports and removing headphone jacks in iPads. This fixes that. As many wired headphones sound better than Bluetooth. Now you do not have to settle.

Works but overheats when in use
Does what it says. Has decent audio playback, but as the title states, the part connected to the lightning drive overheats after only a few minutes of use. I don't know how this will affect my phone.
