Charming Colorwork Socks: 25 Delightful Knitting Patterns for Colorful, Comfy Footwear

Any sock knitter who likes colorwork will love this book. I have followed this author on YouTube and Instagram for a while now and she is such a talented artist. This is a paperback book. The book was part of a multi- item order from multiple vendors and it took a whole month for it to even ship. Since there is no way to contact or talk to anyone from Amazon, I don't know what the reason was for such a delayed shipping time. But any sock knitter would enjoy this book with enough patterns to keep them busy for awhile. The author also provides technical information as to yarn types and techniques she uses to knit her her socks.

Solid 20/10 adorable socks, clear pattern descriptions and excellent photos. Ms Stone is delightful and I love to follow her work. I recommend adding this volume to your knitting library. You won’t regret it. It offers lots of inspiration and great tips. I caught this book on a flash sale and can’t wait to snag some more but it is definitely worth the full price. Would make an excellent Christmas/birthday gift for the knitter in your life.

Easy to follow and lovely patterns!

I want to knit every pattern! Everything is easy to understand and follow. I haven't done much colorwork before and this was still accessible. I've almost finished my first sock & the fit is great. I can see my tension & etc. improving and I'm excited to see how the 2nd sock will compare to the first in that regard. I don't think any pattern goes over 3 colors handled, and the patterns are varied. There are short socks, long socks, and there's even a touch of lace on one pattern. Some of the pairs have all-over colorwork while others have some only at the ankle and maybe the toe. The beginning has a lot of info that I found especially helpful, especially regarding tension & color dominance. She describes how to organize your yarn to prevent tangling and how to handle your floats to avoid a poor fit. It's always good when a book has multiple patterns you want to make, and personally I'd like to try all of these. I'm planning to get some cute shoes to pair them with : )

Checked out “Joyful Colorwork Socks” by Charlotte Stone at my local library. I discovered this book on AMAZON from the same author and knew I would enjoy creating the socks inside the cover. Both books have a lot helpful information regarding color choices, floats, finishing, blocking, and mending. There are colorful charts detailing the patterns. I really enjoy this author and her sock designs. I’m going to keep an eye for more of her books.

Live this book. Great patterns for socks.

Not a beginner sock knitters book. But a good book for someone wanting to dabble in stranded color work as the patterns range from big motifs to all over. There are a lot of patterns in the book. I have picked it up twice to read through it but have a problem finding colors in my stash that would do these sock justice. With the amount of work that goes into a stranded sock, I want beautiful colors like what is in the book. I thin their gauge is much smaller than what I typically come out with, but I have read that stranded knitting is tighter than normal so I am going to be doing a lot of searching (which I love to do).

Would recommend to everyone!! I bought her other book too!! Can't wait until she does dinosaurs!! 🦖🦕

I love Charlotte’s work and this book is a fantastic resource for anyone wanting to learn how to start enjoying the massive benefits of knitting socks - the only problem now is not being able to actually gift the socks to their intended recipient as I love them too much and keep them for myself ;) LOL Honestly this is a brilliant book. Instructions are easy to follow, diagrams are included for those who like them and the photos are also clear and inspiring.
