Replacement for Factory Remote
Works fine with GH2 as replacement for failed Panasonic-issue remote with fragile cable (failed at strain relief after 10 years use, can't complain). Cable is sturdier on this one. Swtichable between still and video remote; be sure to select the mode for your application.

Very useful like all other of these devices
I really like this item. Something wireless would be better, but the cable is plenty long for any minor inconveniences. For the price I really like it, but I couldn't give it a 5, because on the GH4, in M mode, I can take stills as well as take footage. The shutter button doesn't know the difference. I assume it can be setup through the menu settings because these Panasonic cameras are highly "customizable". Until then, straight out the box and into the camera it cannot do both in manual mode using the shutter button (the record button in M mode doesn't do anything).

Very good product for the money
I thought this product work very well I only use it for video so I can't really speak about photos but the start-stop button seems pretty accurate the plastic build feels a little bit cheap but what more can you expect at this price range I think for this price range this is a very good product to buy and it works very well with a start and stop for recording on the Panasonic GH4 camera

Does NOT work in photo mode on GH5s
Seems capabilities with Panasonic Lumix GH4-5s are inconsistent and across the board in these reviews. I bought 3 of these for our 2 GH5s' and older GH4. NONE of them remote trigger in photo mode. ALL 3 remote trigger in video mode. So this only does 50% of what we need. With the GH5s' awesome stop motion and timelapse capabilities (pretty much everything Dragonframe does that we need in-camera), I need a remote trigger and didn't think a piece of kit working in photo & video mode would be so exotic. Curious why Panasonic wouldn't have a current model available.*NOTE: I've had people suggest the Lumix phone app and out of production Lumix remote cord (neither are a viable option). Aside from Teradek, consumer wireless (ESPECIALLY Bluetooth) are unreliable and not always a viable option on commercial sets. Tethering is ALWAYS the best option for reliable, on-demand signal capture. Wish there was a tethered option that triggered photo and video on GH5s.*RE: Lumix capture software: The LUMIX image capture laptop version we use for all our commercial tabletop work is actually really awesome. We were using CaptureOne ($250) with our Canon 5DIV and the software was so finicky we actually switched to the smaller GH5s sensor images just because the (free) Lumix software was so solid and responsive for remote triggering with those cameras. And the images out of a micro 43 sensor compared to Canon's full-frame were still really solid for most applications. However, setting up the laptop to a client live-view monitor and calibrating both every time was kinda tedious, so for applications when the client didn't need to view/Livestream, it would be nice to ditch the laptop and just use the camera to an HDMI monitor and remote tether, hence the frustrating search for a consistent photo/video remote tether...

Compatible w Panasonic DVX200, works well, but zoom speed is slow
To my surprise, this remote works with Panasonic AG-DVX200 video camera, using its "ZOOM S/S" jack. This is really inexpensive compared to most of other Panasonic remotes starting at about $150. The only thing to be aware about (not a defect or anything) is that zoom works at slowest zoom speed of DVX200. Zoom speed settings in the camera menu do not appear to affect zoom speed when zooming with this remote, and the speed is at its slowest. Start/stop works as expected.

A must have for video rigs
When you place you camera on the rig is kinda hard to reach the record button. But if you buy one of these remote, then all you do is place the remote on one of the video rig handles and boom you have the camera controls once again.
