Definitely works. I made the mistake of running too long in a closet and left a dirt kind of smell. It has gone away since. Removed the smells out of the carpet though

This unit came too me broken, even though it looked as if it were wrapped for a “Tornado,” when I got it, I shook it to see what was in the wrapping. I could hear it ratteling as I shook it, and couldn’t figure out what it was until I opened the package. At first, I thought it was one of those small disc’s that you sometimes get for your PC, but even those didn’t make noise like this one when it was shaken...

It's more likely the transformer is bad not the hex plate.
